Certain cost codes can be automatically populated based on above Example Codes. If they have a valid Cost Center and meet the requirements indicated in the following scenarios (even if full cost code is indicated and has other incomplete or invalid information), automatically populate corresponding code:

*For Suppression, Training/Instructor, and Emergency Stabilization codes: if there is a valid 4-digit project/job code, and first 4 digits of the Sub-Activity indicated that do not conflict with the Incident Name.

*For Severity: if the Incident Name is indicated as Severity and there is a valid 4-digit project/job code.

*For all Hazardous Fuels codes: if the Area/Region (XXX) and project (e.g. N02, R03, W01, etc.) portion of the WBS arepresent/valid.

*For all Boot Stipends: Use same full cost code as first qualifying incident.

*The Fund Code does not have to be indicated on OF-288, input based on above Example Codesunless there is specific direction otherwise from the Issues department.

*Periods must be entered into FPPS.

*X= alpha or numeric digit.

*Suppression, Severity, and Emergency Stabilization are project/job codes that should always appear in FireCode. These codes are always a combination of four letters/numbers, and never contain “O” or “I” (always enter “0” in place of “O” and “1” in place of “I”).

*Severity incident names may appear on OF-288 as STS (Short Term Severity) or LTS (Long Term Severity).

*The Pay Code must change to:(015) for Guarantee -or- (018) for COP, regardless of the cost code.If travel is indicated for Training/Instructor hours or Prescribed Burn (RX), the Pay Code must be changed to 014 (for lines of travel time only).

Italicized and bolded codes above can change based on region, FireCode, etc.
