Rider Registration Form
Format and Schedule:
The clinic is open to members and non-members of the O.A.D.G. The format includes eightlessons of approximately 45 minutes each per day (private or semi-private).We will therefore accommodate between 16 and 32 riders depending on the type of lessons that are chosen by the participants. Clinic hours are from 8:00 a.m. to5:00 p.m., both days with approximately 1 ½ hours for lunch.
Selection Criteria for Qualifying Applicants:
GROUP A– Initial consideration will be given to applicants from the following list:
- 2012 Eastern Silver CADORA Championship OADG Cash Winners
- 2012 O.A.D.G. special cash award winners
- 2012 Dr. Brian Mills award winner
- 2012 Senior rider award winner
GROUP B--Riders who are not included in the above-mentioned list, will be considered for a spot based on “date of entry” with preference being given to 2012 OADG members and 2013 new OADG members.
Rules:
- Registration and Deadlines: Group A: must advise as soon as possible by e-mail to the Clinic Secretary of their intention to participate. In order to secure their spot, their entry form and fee must be received by the Clinic Secretary no later than March 18, 2013. Group B:Completed registration form, including full payment must be received by the Clinic Secretary on or before the date of Friday, April 15, 2013.
- Date of Entry: Group A: the date of the e-mail will be used as the date of entry for allocation purposes. Group B: the date that completed registration form and clinic fee is received by the Clinic Secretary is the date that will be used for the date of entry for allocation purposes.
- Receipt of Registrations and Fees: The O.A.D.G. is not responsible for late or misdirected mail. The O.A.D.G. will confirm receipt of your registration by e-mail or phone. If you do not receive confirmation of receipt, please contact the Clinic Secretary before the deadline.
- Cheque payable to O.A.D.G. Allcheques must be current dated and not later than March 18, 2013 for Group A applicants and April 15, 2013 for Group B applicants.
- Final Selection of Horses and Riders is at the Discretion of the O.A.D.G. Board of Directors should a conflict arise. Successful applicants will be notified by e-mail.
- For insurance purposes, riders and horse owners must be members of their provincial equestrian sport organization (e.g. OEF or Quebec) and provide a photocopy of their 2013 membership card(s). Due to the change in insurance carriers by the OEF, proof of your 2013 membership must be received no later than April 21.
- Riders must wear an ASTM/SEI approved safety helmet at all times while mounted.
- Turn-out: All horses must be braided, so that Cindy Ishoy can accurately see the neck position. Riders must be smartly turned out, with clean boots and attire fitted so that the rider position can be assessed.
- Riders must ride the horses listed on their registration, or if unavailable, must receive permission from the Clinic Secretary to substitute a horse. Riders wishing to substitute horses must complete an additional registration form, and must have a history of riding the horse.
- Horses must arrive at the Clinic sound, fit and in good health. 2013 Coggins Test photocopy must be included with the registration (2012 Coggins Test results can be included -- with 2013 results to be sent by April 21).
Rider Fee:
O.A.D.G. Members including new members for 2013 -- $250 per Private Lesson or $125 per Semi-Private Lesson Riders may apply to ride on both days.
Non-O.A.D.G. members -- $300 per Private Lesson or $150 per Semi-Private Lesson If space available, consideration will be given to ride on both days.
Cancellations: Riders who cancel for whatever reason will receive a refund less a $25 processing fee, only in the event a replacement rider can be found by the O.A.D.G. If no replacement is available, the rider will not receive a refund. If the clinic itself is cancelled, all applicants shall receive a full refund.
Food:Food and refreshments will be available for purchase on site – a fundraiser for the Ashton First Field Pony Club. You may brown bag it or find an alternative in Stittsville.
Riding Times: To be posted on the week before the clinic.
Stabling: Take advantage of renting a stall to learn from auditing the other rides to maximize the benefit of Cindy Ishoy’s teaching. Box stall stabling is available starting Friday night at Oakhurst Farm. There are 12 stalls available in the main barn.
The stall rental fee is $75 for 2 nights and 2 days, $65 for 1 night and 2 days OR $30 per day. The fee includes HST. Stall payment must be included with the registration. Horses must arrive no earlier than 4:00 p.m. Friday, Apr.26. All stalls must be vacated by 5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 28. Initial shavings are included with the stall fee. Riders must bring their own feed (grain, feed, hay and feed and water pails), and extra shavings. Lots of trailer parking available.
Note: Oakhurst can accommodate FEI riders who require quarantine stabling. Indicate on registration form.
