Admission Requirements and QuotasforStudents from Abroad

We will accept students from abroad according to the quotas for the faculty programs listed below for the 2013-2014 academic year. Principles related to student admission from abroad: The decisions taken at the General Assembly meeting of the Council of Higher Education on 13 February 2013 and as determined by Guidelines on the Admission of International Students.

a)Applications from the following applicantsare accepted - provided they are at their last year of high school or have successfully completed high school:

1)Foreign nationals

2)Applicants who used to be a Turkish citizen at birth but were permitted to cease Turkish citizenship by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and who certify to bear the document concerning the use of rights recognized by the Law no.5203 to their minor children registered in certificate of alienage.

3)Citizens who have changed a foreign citizenship with aTurkish citizenship / who have dual citizenship

4)Turkish citizens who have completed secondary education in a foreign country except Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC ) (including Turkish schoolsin a foreign countryexcept TRNC)

5)Citizens of the TRNC, residents of the TRNC or those who have completed secondary education in TRNC and who have GCE AL exam results.

6)Citizens of the TRNC who have or will have GCE AL exam results from (private) high schools in other countries between 2005-2010

b)Applications from the following applicants are NOT accepted:

1)Turkish citizens who have completed their secondary education in Turkey or the TRNC

2)TRNC citizens (except those who have completed their secondary education in high schools in TRNCand have GCE AL and those who have or will have GCE AL who studied at (private) high schools in other countries between 2005-2010)

3)Owners of dual citizenship whose first citizenship by birth was Turkish in Article a #2 (except those who have completed secondary education in a foreign country other than TRNC / or have completed secondary education at a Turkish school in a foreign country except TRNC)

4)Owners of dual citizenship one of them being TRNC citizenship (who completed their secondary education in high schools in TRNC and those who have GCE AL from other countries between 2005-2010)

5)Turkish citizens or those with dual citizenship whose first citizenship by birth was Turkish or as defined in sub-paragraph 2 of Article a who study at schools within the embassies in Turkey and foreign high schools in Turkey

Application may be made with at least one or more of the documents in TABLE 1. The evaluation criteria specified in the tablecan be changed for additional placements

Applications:

In order to apply, you must scan the following documents and the Turkish translation of the documents and thenattach them to the application form online. Candidates who just fill out the application form and who do not attach the specified documents will not be accepted. Applicants must complete the application form in capital letters strictly and attach the specified documents in full. The original documents must be presented at registration. It is the sole responsibility of the applicants that the uploaded documents and the information provided are complete and correct.

Documents needed for the online application system:

  1. High School Diploma and its Turkish translation

High school diploma and its Turkish translation must be attached. Applicants who have not graduated yetare required to submitan official document (provisional graduation certificate) from High School, showing a specific graduation date and indicating potential graduation grades.A ‘Certificate of Equivalence’ from the Turkish Ministry of Education or from a Turkish Embassy, showing that the high school diploma is equivalent to a Turkish high school diploma, is not required for application. Accepted applicants will provide this document at registration.

  1. Official Transcript:

Applicants must submit official high school transcripts which show high school courses and grades and which have been approved by the High School Management. The transcript should include all transcripts from all courses during the High School years. For this reason, please do not send just for the last year. If the transcripts are not in Turkish, copies translated to Turkish must be submitted with the transcripts. If applicants are currently receiving education at another university or if they have graduated from another university, they must submit a transcript from the university.

  1. Exam Result

For the application, the result of the exam (SAT, GCE, International Baccalaureate, etc.) must be attached.Only the above-mentioned exams in TABLE 1 are accepted.Any other exams are not accepted.It is not possible to apply with scores under the minimum score requirements specified in TABLE 1.

If you have not graduated from high school, but have a valid exam results (e.g. SAT, Science Olympiads, etc.), you can apply.In that case,you need to specify the average that you have at the moment as a high school grade average.

  1. Copy of passport

Applicants, who have a passport, should attach the passport picture page.It does not need to be approved.Applicants who do not have a passport do not need to attach anything.

  1. Application Fee (TL 75) receipt:

The application fee must be paid or transferred to the following bank account and thereceipt scanned and uploaded to the program.The application fee is accepted in TL.No other payment types are accepted.Applications without the application fee will not be processed.

Evaluation of Applications:

Evaluation and placement of applicants are completely under the authority of the YildirimBeyazit University. YildirimBeyazit University is free to do the selection of applicants, the placement procedures and to fill quotas. To meet the conditions of application, does not guarantee placement.

In order to apply, the determined application form has to be used and the information and documents requested on this form must be complete and accurate. Using the application form and specifying the order of preference, applicants may choose a maximum of 3 (three)of the university programs.

(1)It is checked by the Department of Student Affairs (OİDB) that the applicant meets the minimum criteria.

(2)Student files that meet the minimum application criteria according to the principles given in TABLE 1 are sent to the relevant departments.

(3)The Unit Board of Directors creates a commission consisting of three members for each program to examine and evaluate the files.

(4)The Commissions are free to fill or not to fill the quotas as a result of the evaluation.

(5)Meeting the conditions for the application does not guarantee placement.

(6)In order not to exceed the quotas that have been announced for the programs, the Commissions present a list of applicants and substitute applicants to the Department of Student Affairs at YildirimBeyazit University.

(7)YildirimBeyazit University is free to fill or not to fill the quotas. Meeting the conditions for the application does not guarantee placement.

(8)The list of accepted applicants and alternate applicants for student programs will be announced on the website of the Department of Student Affairs.

(9)Department of Student Affairs and Foreign Students Office will send a letter (Letter of Acceptance)to accepted students stating the status of principal and alternate students. Registration deadlines and necessary information are stated in this letter.

(10) The validity period for examinations approved by the Board of Higher Education during student admission, recommended for use in the assessment of applications for student admission to university students: Exams regarded as high school graduation exams are valid with no time limit. Exams regarded as university entrance exams are valid for a period of two years.
