The New Student Orientation Leader position plays a pivotal role in welcoming hundreds of new students to the UConn community. Leaders assist with providing academic advising support, leading groups, facilitating opportunities for students to adjust to college life, as well as assisting with other leadership and administrative tasks. This is an outstanding opportunity for any student interested in gaining leadership skills and enhancing their marketability for future positions.
New Student Orientation sessions take place between mid- May and early August 2017.

Requirements: Be a team player, have a positive attitude, outgoing personality and have strong communication skills. Time Commitments: Full-time summer commitment for 13 weeks, from May 22 to August 12 (appx. 400-450 hours over 13 weeks; weather/crop dependent). Must work weekend and some evening hours, including holidays (such as Memorial Day and July 4th). Strawberry season (June) - 6 day work weeks, with Sunday afternoons and one weekday off. Blueberry season (July/August) - 5 day work weeks, with Sundays and Mondays off. One 3-day weekend granted in July, as assigned by managers. Work days can start as early as 7:30 am and can finish as late as 7pm (varies); typical shift is 8 hours
Compensation Notes: Pay is at an hourly rate and payroll is on a bi-weekly basis. Compensation based on amount of work and dedication to the completion of summer farm work. Paid Part-Time 2017 Summer Internships, Legends - Xfinity Theatre, Hartford CT
The Legends Internship Program provides the opportunity to gain valuable experience in sports and entertainment industry.
Hospitality Intern:The Hospitality Intern will rotate between 4 departments; Concessions, Premium (VIP, In-Seat Service, special catering), Customer Service, and Office Duties. The Hospitality intern will work closely with the General Manager and the supervisors of each department. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to stocking, taking inventory, check-in and check-out of employees, stand sheet reconciliation, and learning the POS system. Responsibilities will also include but are not limited to gathering on-site surveys during events, assisting in Customer Service games, compiling survey results in Excel, handing out prizes and numerous other customer service related activities.
Culinary Intern:The Culinary Intern will work closely with the General Manager and cooks. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to stocking, taking inventory, supervision of culinary projects, station set-up/breakdown, learning culinary basics (recipes, knife handling etc.), learning Food Safety and Sanitation, assisting with special events.
Requirements: Must be self-motivated, creative, eager to learn, strong attention to detail, creative, and able to work independently. Be able to develop strong working relationships. Must be flexible to work extended hours due to business requirements, including late nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficient in Microsoft Office-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
