Patriotism Choice Board: What does it mean to be patriotic?

LETTER
Option 1: Argumentative Letter
·  Must persuade members of your community to get involved in various patriotic acts such as volunteering time, goods, services, etc.
·  Must be written in ink or typed
Option 2: Friendly Letter
·  Must thank our service men and women for their patriotism and all that they do for our country
·  Must include all parts of a friendly letter: inside address, outside address, date, greeting, body paragraphs, and closing.
·  Must be typed / COLLAGE
·  Images must represent patriotism in the U.S. as well as SHOW patriot acts. There must be no less than 10 pictures. No more than 3 can be just symbols of patriotism (i.e. image of a flag)
·  Must contain color, a variety images and pictures
·  May use word or follow the traditional route by cutting out pictures and words from magazines and newspapers and gluing them to a poster board or construction paper
·  Must be able to explain verbally how each pictures SHOWS patriotism
DRAWING OR COMIC STRIP
Option 1: Drawing (Picture)
·  Must illustrate what patriotism looks like
·  Must contain color and be appealing to eye
Option 2: Comic Strip
·  Must address patriotism in the U.S.
·  Must contain examples of figurative language. i.e. onomatopoeia, alliteration, assonance, hyperbole, etc.
·  Must contain color and be appealing to the eye / POEM
·  Must promote patriotism in the U.S. and share ways for the citizens to be patriotic OR show appreciation to our men and women who are in the military fighting for liberty and justice across the world
·  Must contain at least (4) four stanzas with internal or end rhyme
·  Must contain four examples of figurative language i.e. hyperbole, metaphor, simile, personification, alliteration, assonance, etc.
·  Must be written in ink or typed
VIDEO-TAPED SPEECH
·  Must promote patriotism in the U.S. and share ways for the citizens to be patriotic
·  Must be recorded on your own
technology
·  Must be three to five minutes
·  Bring on a flash drive to present to class
·  Must provide a typed copy for display / SONG OR RAP
·  Must promote patriotism in the U.S. and share ways for the citizens to be patriotic OR show appreciation to our men and women who are in the military fighting for liberty and justice across the world
·  Must be performed before the class
·  Must provide a typed copy for display
