Teacher Guide: Culminating Project Tasks in Family Connection
Overview
Students in Kent School District can now upload their Culminating Project requirements into Family Connection tasks for their Advisory Teachers to review. Here are instructions for how to view your students and the tasks!
Getting Started
To begin, you should have received an email with your account name, username and password. If you did not, please contact your Site Manager!
Logging into your Naviance Account:
- Enter succeed.naviance.com
- Enter the account name for Kent-Meridian High School: kentmhs
- Enter your username as provided in your account setup email and password.
Finding Your Advisory Students
To view your advisory students in Naviance:
- Once you are logged into your Naviance account, navigate to the Students tab and click Groups.
- Find your Advisory Group. You may need to adjust the Grade Levels and click “Get Members” depending on what grade your students are. Please note that the filters default to 12th Graders.
- You can also search for a student directly by last name in the “Search for Student” area of the blue toolbar,
Viewing Culminating Project Activity
- When you locate a student whose activity you would like to view, click on the student’s name in your Group or from the “Search for Student” bar.
- In the student profile, you will notice if the student has uploaded a document by looking to the right of the profile for this link.
- If you click on this link, you will be able to see a log of your student’s Culminating Project activity. You can also download any documents provided by students here for your review.
- You can also view all of the students’ tasks by clicking the “Culminating Project” tab.
Approving or Rejecting a Culminating Project Task
- The easiest way to approve or reject a task is by clicking into the new activity link as shown above, labeled “student has recent culminating project tasks activity.”
- Once in the dashboard, you can click on the task name to mark the task complete (approve the document) or you can provide a comment to the student if they need to do extra work.
