Welcome backafter the summer break. Hi I am Claire the new manager taking over Nichola’s role. I have worked within a child care setting for 12 years and have just completed my BA honus degree in early education. Please feel free to come and have a chat with me.Nichola is sadly leaving us to further her career doing her PGCE and wish her the best of luck although we will still be seeing her as she is taking over as chair of the setting. We are also looking for volunteers to join our committee as sectary and two committee members if anyone would be happy to take on these role then please speak to Claire or Ann.

Children are very welcome to bring in toys from home to show us, but as we have 24 children in each session it is restricted to 1 small toy each and large toys will be sent home with parents, because we do not have the space to store them.

Parking

Every half term I ask AllParents/carers to park their cars on Kingsway West and not in the car park, the school have now informed me that the car park will be locked during drop off and pick up. If you park your car in the car park you may be stuck for some time while the caretaker is located to let you out.

Clothing

It is really important that all children arrive in preschool with a waterproof coat/jacket.Weaim to play outside everyday and we will go out during periods of sunshine, rain, wind and snow. There is a lot to learn and do outside that we simply can’t do inside!

All children need to bring a spare set of clothes with them, we no longer have spare clothes therefore if your child needs changing and they don’t have a set with them we will call parents back in, to bring them a change of clothes.

Birthdays

We love to join in and celebrate birthdays; we do however ask that parents to speak to us first about bringing in cakes etc to share in the sessions.

Parent play sessions

Parents are welcome to join us for a session or a couple of hours if that is easier, for a play date. The children love having a parent join them in their school, showing off their many skills and talents and meeting their friends. Please speak to member of staff if you would like to join us

Termly progress reports

Termly reports are on the baby’s day system for you to keep track of how your child is progressing in the preschool. It is important that you have read, commented and signed them. Key workers are available to chat about your child’s progress, if you have a concern or would just like a verbal update please speak to your key worker who will arrange a time and date that in convenient to you both.

As some of you were aware we were inspected by Ofsted in the summer Term just before we broke up for holidays. We are happy to tell you all we have been rated good by Ofsted. If You wish to view our report please follow the link.
