April, 2010
Description / A specialized blend of water, solvents, propellant, and proprietary ingredients which can be used to aerosolize most latex, waterborne, and water reducible paints. The unique cap functions as the paint reservoir during the filling process. There is no prep or cleanup work involved.
Prominent Features / » Individual cans can be aerosolized for special colors
» No brushes or rollers to clean up
» Low odor
» Non-flammable
» Reduced over spray
» Environmentally friendly
Uses / Excellent for aerosolize custom matched colors, quickly touch up damaged areas, indoor moldings or trim, home decorating, safety maintenance and crafts.
Limitations / Galvanized surfaces should be primed prior to application with a galvanized primer.
Surface Preparation / Clean surface thoroughly, removing all dirt, grease, oil, soapy film, rust, moisture, etc. and cover adjacent areas to protect from spray mist.
Application / Attention – This propellant charged can must be used with an approved Seymour of Sycamore filling apparatus.
To complete the Universal Water Blend can, water reducible paint must be added. For best results, pump at a continuous pressure of 120psi.
To complete the Universal Solvent Blend can, solvent based paint must be added. For best results, pump at a continuous pressure of 100psi.
Using either the solvent or water blend can, detach the clear plastic plunger attachment from the top of the cap. Slide open the Fill-One door, then firmly press the plunger attachment and mate it with the plunger. Make sure the nipple is facing down. Remove the clear plastic cap from the top of the fill can. Press the metal reservoir cup onto the top of the can. Slide the cap into the metal reservoir cup, pressing down so that it mates with the bottom of the cup. Pour filtered paint to the reservoir cup, leaving a 1/4 inch gap (6mm) at the top unfilled. Overfilling will cause paint to spill out during the filling process. Place the reservoir and can into the filling machine, keeping them connected at all times. Slide the brim of the reservoir cup into the reservoir slot. If necessary, rotate the black base counterclockwise to snug the connection between the can and cup. Closing the door will activate the machine and depress the plunger. Leave the door closed for 10 seconds. This will inject approximately 3 ounces (90mL) of paint into the can. Open fill machine door. Turn the black base clockwise to loosen can and reservoir before removing them from the machine. Separate metal reservoir cup from the can. Separate the plastic cap from the reservoir by hand or by pressing the cup down on a work surface, which will release the cap. Insert sprayhead using a slight twisting motion with the spray nozzle pointing away from you.
Shake can vigorously for 30 seconds to mix the contents. Invert the can and spray for 3 seconds to clear the valve and sprayhead. Place cap back on the can. To fill more cans with the same paint, repeat steps 1 thru 11. Disconnect compressed air tube from source when not in use.
Note: Since this aerosol can is incomplete without the addition of paint, the custom packer assumes all responsibility for completing the filling operation as well as the performance of the finished product (including long term can stability).
Clean Up / To clear sprayhead for future use, turn can upside down and spray for 3 seconds. Completely empty cans may be recycled or disposed of with regular trash. Dispose of partially empty cans responsibly. DO NOT incinerate or compact.
Environmental Concerns / Compliant with all U.S. VOC regulations for aerosol paint.
Caution / Technical Information
VAPOR HARMFUL. MAY AFFECT THE BRAIN OR NERVOUS SYSTEM CAUSING DIZZINESS, HEADACHE OR NAUSEA. CAUSES EYE, SKIN, NOSE AND THROAT IRRITATION.
Do not puncture or incinerate (burn) container. Exposure to heat or prolonged exposure to sun may cause bursting. Do not expose to heat or store at temperatures above 120ºF.
Notice: Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational over exposure to solvents with permanent brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal.
Vapors may ignite explosively. Keep away from heat, sparks and flame. Do not smoke. Extinguish all flames and pilot lights, turn off stoves, heaters, electric motors and other sources of ignition during use and until all vapors are gone. Prevent build-up of vapors by opening all windows and doors to achieve cross-ventilation.
Use onlywith adequate ventilation. Do not breathe dust, vapors or spray mist. To avoid breathing vapors or spray mist, open windows and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air or wear respiratory equipment protection (NIOSH/MSHA approved) or leave the area. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
First Aid: If you experience difficulty in breathing, leave the area to obtain fresh air. If continued difficulty breathing is experienced, get medical attention immediately. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and get medical attention. For skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
