JOB PURPOSE
The MI Lead is to assist with daily reporting, development of new reports and data extraction processes whilst implementing and supporting solutions.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/DELIVERABLES(please complete)
  • Work across all stages of BI project work (requirements and logical design, physical design, implementation, testing and deployment).
  • Data gathering, research and analysis so as to develop insightful conclusions and generate solutions to address user needs
  • Create written communication materials that effectively summarize findings and support recommendations
  • Direct quality assurance and user acceptance testing by writing test plans and managing the execution of testing (Unit and UAT)
  • Assessing, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintaining and enhancing existing reporting structures
  • Providing data extracts to support all business areas. Involving analysis, data mapping, documentation, and crucially, the building, testing and deployment of SQL scripts
  • Analysing, developing & maintenance of data cleansing (ETL) routines to ensure that data is consistent, valid and processed according to business requirements
  • Designing and building reports from user requirements
  • Creating and maintaining Information System documentation
  • Maintaining and carrying out routine data maintenance activities on a number of MS SQL Server and other systems
  • Providing technical support for existing databases, Management Information Systems and any other reporting structures required by the business
  • Working with developers to test and implement changes to corporate Management Information System

Qualifications
A detailed and organised individual who is able to analyse and challenge data and information supplied to them. You will need to demonstrate good communication skills in order to deal with all levels of the business and experience in insurance and call centre data would be advantageous.
Technical knowledge and understanding(please complete)
Desirable Competencies:
  • Experience of the General Insurance sector
  • Hands-on exposure to MySQL

  • At least 3 years’ experience of data analysis using SQL in an RDBMS environment
  • Fully competent in writing complex procedural SQL
