Tips for Success

Elementary School

The mission of Altamonte Elementary School is to develop a community of life-long learners to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

"Soar to Success at AES"

Follow the set traffic pattern for drop-off & pick-up. Turn east onto Oakhurst from Palm Springs. Left onto Grove & left onto Pineview St. Turn right into the school. You cannot turn left into the school off Pineview! Tickets are issued regularly by the Sherriff’s Office.

PLEASE BE PATIENT.

Please stay in the line and move up promptly.Do not let children cross traffic lanes.

Do not park & leave your car in the car line ORpark in the lot and walk up to drop off or pick up your child.

For your child’s safety, exit from the right side and drop off only at the designated location, which is the walkway beginning at the cafeteria.

Have your hanging tag prominently displayed in the windshield.

Fall Fundraiser & Spring Walk-a-thon

Each year at AES the PTA sponsors fundraising events. These events allow our school to purchase items that are not provided for in the school budget. In the past we have funded important projects benefitting the entire student body, such as a new playground set, computer keyboards for classrooms, a basketball court, books for the media center, a new fitness area, and most recently new computers and visual boards for classrooms.

School Spirit Nights

Your family is invited to join other AES families at various local establishments that donate a percentage of sales generated on a particular night. These monies are used to provide funding for special programs we offer. AES has partnered with companies such as Chick-fil-A, Tijuana Flats, Jeremiah’s, and Semoran Skateway. The PTA school calendar and newsletter have details of these fun events! We hope to see you there!

Special Events

PTA plans several family events throughout the school year, to promote family bonding and encourage relationships with other families. Your assistance in planning and implementing these events, iswelcomed and most appreciated.

Attend PTA general meetings, read our newsletter, check the website, and sign up at remind.com for continual updates on our plans for the 2016-2017 school year.

Community Partnerships

The following businesses partner with AES and the PTA year-round to give money back:

Office Depot: Mention AES at checkout. Our school receives a store credit of 5% which will be used to buy general school supplies.

Box Tops for Education: Collect Box Tops labels from participating manufacturers’ products and send them in with your child. All funds generated are distributed to our “Specials” (music, Art, or P.E.) departments or for other school improvements.

Target: Assign AES as your school. Shop at Target using your Target charge card and AES will receive a rebate check which is used to defray the cost of field trips.

Clothing Drop: Place gently used clothing in the large container located on the sidewalk outside the music room. All monies generated benefit school wide needs.

Newspaper Recycling: Place newspapers only in the large recycling dumpster at the entrance to the school parking lot. All money generated benefits the P.E. department.
