This is the India Field Study component of Global Poverty and the Law (Law 5025). For details, see course description for Law 5025. During spring break 2018, this course will be held in Delhi, India and will consist of conversations with lawyers, politicians, scholars, leaders in civil society, and senior bureaucrats who are active in anti-corruption efforts. Students will also meet frontline bureaucrats (i.e., cops and government teachers) who will share their own perspectives about the problem. Enrollment is limited to 12 students. Students will need a passport and a visa to travel to India. Elements used in grading: class participation and short writing assignments. Note:

1.  Students accepted into Law 5026 (India component – 1 unit) must concurrently enroll in Law 5025 (Stanford component – 3 units).

2.  Students may enroll in Law 5025 (Stanford component) without enrolling in Law 5026 (India component).

Instructions: To bid for this course, you must complete and submit this form to the Law School Registrar’s Office by 4:00 p.m. on November 13, 2017. After the deadline, students will be selected by a random lottery. You will be notified by e-mail as to whether you have been accepted into the class or placed on a waitlist. Students must email Kyung Chong () to commit to register for the course upon acceptance and notification. Notifications will be sent out by November 22.
