You could be part of an organisation that makes a real difference to many people’s lives each year. We need people to help at our homes in Bishopton, Erskine, Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as throughout the rest of the country fundraising for Erskine and promoting Erskine.
Who can Volunteer for Erskine?
People from all walks of life are welcome to volunteer at Erskine. We can accept individuals from the age of 14yrs and there is no upper age limit.
Diversity Statement; We are looking for people from a variety of backgrounds whofeel they can make a positive contribution for our residents. Erskine volunteers are all ages 14yrs and upwards, male and female from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities. Experience is not always necessary as Erskine can support you via our training programme
What volunteering can you do?
There are a number of regular roles (formal) and some irregular roles (informal). You may be able to volunteer in one of the follow roles depending on availbaility

As an Erskine Volunteer you will receive training which will help you understand how we work and any details specific to your role. This will give you a broader knowledge of dementia and disability care and broader skills which can be very useful in other aspects of life. We will also pay your out-of-pocket travel expenses up to £15 a day

When can you volunteer for Erskine?
You can volunteer for Erskine Monday – Sunday. Some opportunities are restricted to Monday –Friday e.g SALT volunteer and physiotherapy helper however the majority of our opportunities are available 7 days. If you are under 16yrs there are some roles which are restricted due to current legislation mainly fundraising roles such as can collecting and if you are <18yrs you are not permitted to sell cigarettes therefore unfortunately cannot volunteer in the Royal Scots Shop
How much commitment is required?
We look for a minimum of three months commitment for formal roles (regular) however for informal roles you can give as little or as much time as you can afford

Application process
You can pick up a volunteer form from any of the four homes or phone and request for a paper copy form to be sent out to you. You can access a copy on line via our website or you can email us to request a direct link to our application via email

The volunteering positions available change all the time and where and what we need at the moment can be found advertised via our website. For the majority of roles you will required to attend an informal interview, provide details of two referees and undergo a Disclosure Scotland (PVG) check. It may be that the current opportunities do not suit you for whatever reason but if you have a particular skill or talent that you think would be useful to Erskine, we’d be happy to hear from you. However we can’t promise any particular role will be offered.
Our fundraising department utilises volunteers in many roles away from the homes and it may be that you would be able to help them in some way. If so they can be contacted at
Our fundraising department are particularly looking for suitable persons to join local fundraising groups throughout the country but in particular Aberdeen, Balloch, Bridge of Weir, Glenrothes, Oban and Wishaw.
