Book launch: The New Evangelization: Faith, People, Context and Practice
A major work on the New Evangelization, the fruit of a ground-breaking international conference hosted by Leeds Trinity University in 2012, is to be launched on Tuesday 24 March.

The book, The New Evangelization: Faith, People, Context and Practice,is set to become a definitive resource in the years ahead as the Catholic Church re-proposes the gospel in secularised cultures. It's the product of 'Vatican II, 50 Years on: The New Evangelization'; amajorinternationalconference that took place at Leeds Trinity in June 2012.
What's happening?
The launch will begin with Sung Vespers at 6.30pm, presided over by The Right Reverend Marcus Stock, Bishop of Leeds. Then, after a drinks Reception, Michelle Moran, a member of the Pontifical Council of the Laity, will speak on “The New Evangelization in Britain today.”
Mrs Moran, who is to be a key-note speaker at Proclaim 15,”an evangelization event organised by the Catholic bishops in Birmingham in July, is a founder member of the Sion Catholic Community for Evangelism. She is also the President of the International Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services in Rome.
Afterwards, Anna Turton, Commissioning Editor of Bloosmbury T & T Clark, will introduce the book, copies of which will be on sale at the event.
The evening will conclude with a 20-minute film entitled “Leeds Trinity and the New Evangelization” which features four people associated with the university.

Contributors to the book, which has a Preface written by Archbishop RinoFisichella, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, include Fernando CardinalFiloni, Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples of the Holy See, Francis Cardinal George, the recently retired Archbishop of Chicago.
