Standing Regulations:
All Motorsport Ireland events will be held under the International Sporting Code of the F.I.A. the General Competition Rules of MI and these regulations and any supplementary regulations, which may be issued throughout the championship by Carlow Car Club.
1. Dates:
The Championship will run over 7 rounds with 6 to count:

2. Registration:
There will be no championship registration fee this year. Only current club members can register for the first round, new members may register after 1/1/16. Closing date for championship registration is 3rd July 2016.

3. Advertising:
Competitors may be required to carry advertising as supplied to publicise a championship sponsor in accordance with GCR Appendix “B” in order to qualify for points or awards.
4. Scoring System:
The points allocation system for each Class is a follows:
a) Points will be awarded to competitors who have registered prior to round 4.
b) One (1) point will be awarded for starting an event.
c) Competitors must start a minimum of 3 rounds to score points.
d) Results from fastest timed run or combination of times.
e) Competitor with the highest number of points will be the overall winner
Each class will be marked separately with the leading competitor receiving fifteen (15) points. Thirteen (13) points will be awarded to the competitor with the second fasted time and with one (1) point less going to competitors in each successive place down to 14th in class.
4a. Ties:
In the event of a tie in the championship, the driver with the greater number of 1st places will
be deemed to be the winner. If this should fail to produce a result the greater number of 2nd
places will be the winner, and so on. .
5. Championship Divisions(Classes):
Class 1 – Upto 1400cc
Class 2 – 1401cc upto 1600cc/8 valve
Class 3 – 1401cc upto 1600cc/16 valve
Class 4 – 1601cc upto 2000cc/8 valve
Class 5 – 1601cc upto 2000cc/16 valve
Class 6 – Over 2000cc/4WD
If a competitor wishes to change their class throughout the championship, they must notify the championship registrar.
6. Penalties:
Any penalties received at events will be added to your result time to determine your finishing position and points.
7. Prize Giving & Awards:
The prize giving will be discussed at a club meeting. Awards will be given for the top three in each class, and if a large number enter into a particular class the awards will be reviewed by the Carlow Car Club. A lady’s award will also be presented to the lady with the most points received. The directors of the Carlow Car Club reserve the right to amalgamate classes should there be less than 3 entries per class.
