A Grant Program to foster community pride and ownership in AdlaiE.StevensonHigh School in Lincolnshire, Illinoisthrough the:
1) Promotion of communication between the community and school district;
2) Expansion of curricular and co-curricular opportunities;
3) Enhancement of the facilities of the school and campus; and
4) Facilitation of community access to the Stevenson campus and resources.
SUMMARY
The Stevenson High School Grant Program is anannual grant program of the Stevenson High SchoolCommunity Foundation located in Lincolnshire, Illinois.
The purpose of our grants is to provide financial assistance to individuals or organizations that support the goals of the Stevenson High School Community Foundation and foster community pride and ownership in StevensonHigh School.
Grants are awarded on an annual basis and total up to $1,000.00 per annum for any single award, except where special circumstances apply.
Grants are not automatically renewable, however prior recipients are eligible to apply annually.
BACKGROUND
The Stevenson High School Community Foundation Grant Program was established by the Stevenson High School Foundation to augment its yearly programs and events. The Stevenson High School Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1993 by a group of volunteers dedicated to supporting the Stevenson community.
The Stevenson High School Community Foundation strives to fulfill the following vision:
- StevensonHigh School is an exemplary learning community with a long tradition of excellence built upon a foundation (commitment to) of continuous improvement and life-long learning for students and adults.
- The Stevenson High School Community Foundation seeks to model these behaviors as it strives for excellence in its activities and best practices in its organizational structures and strategies.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR GRANTS?
In order to be eligible, applicants must be currentresidents of the Chicagoland area in Illinois, or their organizations must serve the StevensonHigh School community.
Employees of StevensonHigh Schoolor members of the StevensonHigh School organization are eligible for grant receipt.
WHAT ARE THE CRITERIAFOR SELECTION?
- Applicants must complete our standard Stevenson High School Grant Application Form – forms must be submitted to the Stevenson High SchoolCommunity Foundation Grant Allocation Committee by one of its two annual grant application deadlines; October 31 and March 27.
- Applicants must demonstrate that the use of Grant monies will help support the mission and values of the Stevenson High SchoolCommunity Foundation and StevensonHigh School.
- Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
- Applicants cannot receive other monies from Stevenson High SchoolCommunity Foundation.
- Applicants must have exemplary character, leadership, passion and strong desire to achieve Stevenson High School Community Foundation goals.
- All awards will be made without regard to race,creed, color, religion, national origin or sexualorientation and will be consistent with applicable local, state and Federal laws.
- Indication that the StevensonHigh School grant is important for the pursuit of Applicant’s goals.
WHAT ARE THE AWARD CONDITIONS?
- Applicants must accuratelycomplete and signthe Stevenson High School Community Grant Program Application Form and follow all submission requirements as identified in this document.
- If a grant recipient withdraws from the grant program or any portion of the grant award remains unspent for one hundred eighty days (180)daysafter the award was granted, the award will be cancelled and the unspent portion will be returned to the Stevenson High School Community Foundation.
- If the Stevenson High School Community Foundation, for any reason, decides that the grant recipient is ineligible, post award, the award will be cancelled and the unspent portion will be returned to the Stevenson High School Foundation.Grants will be awarded on an annual basis and will total no more than $1,000 per annum, except where special circumstances apply.
- Grant recipients must report how monies were used and benefits derived within 45 days after funds are expended.
- Grant recipients must also write a short narrative description of the event for possible publication by the Stevenson High School Foundation.
- Grant recipients are asked to recognize the Stevenson High School Community Foundation on all printed materials.
HOW WILL GRANT AWARD
PAYMENTS BE MADE?
- Award payments will be made by check from the Stevenson High School Community Foundation to the individual or organizational recipient. Paymentsmay be applied only for the purposes agreed between the recipient and the Stevenson High School Community Foundation Grant Allocation Committee.
- Awards are subject to state and federal incometax guidelines and are the responsibility of the grant recipient.
HOW DO I APPLY?
- Complete and sign the Stevenson High School Grant Program Application Form whichaccompanies this information and return it to the Stevenson High School Foundation Grant Allocation Committee.
- Applicants must submit a grant application at one of two grant application annual deadlines; October 31 and March 31. Applicants will be notified by phone or electronic mail within 30 days of the annual deadline.
- If you are a corporation or not-for-profit institution, you must supply a copy of your registration with the State of Illinois or state where incorporated or registered.
- Failure to submit a complete copy of all pages of the Grant Application Form or other requested information will result in anincomplete application that will not be consideredfor a grant.
- The applicant is responsible for the timely submissionof all materials to the Stevenson High School Community Foundation.
AWARD NOTIFICATION
All information must be received by the Stevenson High School Community Foundation Grant Allocation Committeeby one of the two annual grant deadlines; October 31 and March 27. Applicants may only submit one application per annum.
Notification will be made by telephone or electronic mail within 30 days following the grant application deadline.

In addition, a brief description of the program/event will be required for possible publication on the StevensonHigh SchoolCommunity Foundation web site, High School newspaper or newsletters. These written reports and brief description will become the property of the StevensonHigh SchoolCommunity Foundation.
Grant recipients are also asked to recognize the Stevenson High School Community Foundation on all printed materials, programs, advertisements etc. The Foundation Logo is available upon request.
