“Key Risks in Government Contracting” Seminar
Every contractor who does business with the government assumes risks. Some risks are expected and well known, while others may be implicit or hidden in the fine print. This seminar from Set-Aside Alert, NBPCI and Government Contracts Unlimited is a practical briefing that enables you to balance risk with reward.
Contract Risks and Compliance for Federal Contracting
September 20, 2010 8:30-11:30 AM
FairviewPark Marriott, Falls ChurchVA
While there are always performance risks regardless of whether commercial or government contracts are involved, there may be unintended consequences of risk decisions regarding government contracts. The government has a variety of rewards and punishments that can be imposed on contractors who make risk decisions without understanding the consequences.
- Contractors must preserve the rights that they are entitled to. Surrendering these rights unintentionally may have substantial consequences.
- Contractors must be vigilant to understand when they should protect or enforce their rights.
It’s up to you to protect yourself, your revenue, your profits and your company – no one else will do it for you!
This Seminar will be a practical briefing that will:
- Discuss compliance risks in a nutshell -- an overview of common risks faced by all contractors every day.
- Identify those risks that contractors struggle with as they attempt to obtain a government contract, or to administer and manage an existing contract.
- Focus on the criticality of having a vigorous and comprehensive compliance program that you implement and enforce.
Compliance with contract terms and conditions, statutes and regulations has always been required but the government has sometimes been cooperative and/or helpful. But not today! Compliance is obligatory. Your efforts to prepare and plan for compliance, and implement a compliance monitoring program and process, may serve as defense against harsh penalties the government attempts to impose.
Remember, if you elect to assume certain risks, you must understand the consequences….
