Once a year in January the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity organizes

the money collection called the Grand Finale. Every Finale has got a different theme – the aim the Orchestra wants to achieve, e.g. child’s heart surgery, saving children victims of accidents, caring about seniors. The most important about the Finale is mixing many fundraising techniques in one time, almost in one day: online auctions, live concerts, crowdfunding projects, engaging celebrities in collecting money. It is all strongly connected with on-line tools and using new technologies. The Orchestra is by far one the leaders in collecting donations, as well as in cooperation with media and usage of ICTs in fundraising.

There are 22 Grande Finales organized so far during which over 110 million USD were collected.

They are a local public benefit association.

The mission of The Snow Mountain Community Foundation is improvement of the quality of life of local community through effective collection and management of funds, as well as regranting of such, in order to support charity actions and civic initiatives in the field of education, culture, health, sports, environment protection, democracy, tolerance and cross-border collaboration. Every year, the Snow Mountain Community Foundation tries to find new, creative and suprising ways to encourage donors to give funds for their actions. For example, they create small gifs, like jars of home-made preserves, with an etiquette showing their sucesses in numbers (e.g. number of scholarships given) and a catchy slogan. PR and marketing agencies can learn from their creativity!

Academy for the Development of Philantrophy in Poland („Charity Celebrities” Charity Ball)

They are an association, working on national level.Academy’s activity is addressed first of all to NGOs, civil groups, and business circles, but also to the local governments, media, and public opinion. They give special priority to cooperation with community foundations and other NGOs active in small communities, as they want to primarily contribute to their self-sustainability and local development. Academy cooperates actively with business sector as well, eg. by encouraging presidents of the board and employees to engage in voluntary actions.

Once a year the Academy organizes „Charity Celebrities” Charity Ball, which is the final gala of the Charity Celebrity Competition – the one that aims at honoring socially involved celebrities. During the ball there are many fundraising techniques in use: participants buy tickets, there are laud and silent auctions organized, as well as the lottery. The aim of the Competition is to select the most socially committed Polish celebrities, but mostly to promote valuable initiatives and community organizations, activation of the society in the area of community actions, and fundraising for the Charity Celebrity Memorial Fund which supports comprehensive development and education of disabled children.

Kolomotywa Association (project: Idea founded by virtual community)

Kolomotywa Association was set up in 2010 to work for people with disabilities and socially-excluded groups. Members of the association are parents and friends of those, as well as teachers, students, volunteers – all those people who care about those in need.

For the workshops they wanted to organize they needed huge financial support. Kolomotywa Association decided to put the information about their idea on one of Polish crowdfunding platforms They filled the description of the project with inphographics, videos and photos to show their aim and history. And they succeeded with raised 28000 zł (their need 25000 zł).
