Eat Smart, Move More Community Grants Program
The Eat Smart, Move More Community Grants Program supports local health departments in North Carolina in their efforts to develop community-based interventions that encourage, promote and facilitate physical activity and healthy eating.
The purpose of the program is to provide funding to local communities to implement strategies that advance the goals and objectives of the Eat Smart, Move More Plan.
Funding is awarded yearly, based on availability of funds. The RFA is generally released in May, with funding distributed to grant recipients in September. Any community may apply, but they must partner with their local health department. Funding is for one year and typically has a ceiling of $20,000.
The deadline for applications for 2008-2009 Community Grants has passed. Applications received after 5:00pm on July 18, 2008 will not be accepted.
