Overall Purpose of the Role
Summary of the role – overall role contribution to team, department and organisation
The Commercial and Marketing teams for ESPN Europe, Middle East & Africalook after the promotion, support and brand awareness of the following digital assets;
  • ESPN Digital Products – ESPNcricinfo, ESPNFC, ESPN.co.uk
  • ESPN Mobile Apps
  • ESPN Player
  • ESPN on BT Sport TV Channel

We are offering a chance to work alongside the ESPN Player & Marketing team in a fast paced and exciting sports industry environment. We offer the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of promoting the ESPN brand and our digital assets to sports fans across EMEA.
Areas of Responsibility
Key elements and required results of the role
The job entails, but is not limited to the following responsibilities;
  • Support the Marketing & Commercial Manager and rest of the team on daily tasks
  • Contribute to the creation and running of marketing campaigns around key sporting events
  • Support the Marketing & Commercial Manager on promoting the ESPN Player business in press and subscriber newsletters
  • Assist the Marketing & Commercial Manager in dealing with ESPN’s creative and media agency
  • Contribute to the creation and management of the weekly ESPN UK newsletter as well as solus email sends to our fanbase
  • Manage the ESPN Player social media accounts & contribute to customer support
  • Event management & assistance for the Communications and Marketing teams, including any shoots, stunts and trade marketing activities
  • Some general administrative support as required

Skills and Experience Required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
You should:
Demonstrate a strong interest and passion in sports
Demonstrate a good understanding of digital technologies
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Be professional and responsible working with internal staff, ESPN colleagues, crew and external contacts.
Be self-motivated, observant, confident and a team player
Manage your time effectively and prioritise work in a time efficient manner
Communicate with your team so as to best support each other
Have good administrative skills and be able to research, to work with the creative and logistic elements of the team
Language skills welcome
Intermediate to Advanced skills in the following software applications (working on PC):
Microsoft Excel, WordPowerPoint
An understanding of theInternete.g. search engines, email marketing, newsletters
Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dreamweaver desirable
HTML and CSS (mainly inline styling) desirable
*Some training is provided, please be honest about your computer skills. You will receive training on Disney specific software.
