Job Description
Responsible for preparing, examining, analysing, negotiating and reviewing contracts, quotes and estimates involved with the maintenance, repair and redecoration of the buildings owned by the Abbey, including Bath Abbey. The Contracts Administrator will report directly to our Footprint* Project Director and will also ensure that internal and external works are completed on time, to the highest quality and within budget, working on a variety of projects in size and scope. Additionally the post-holder will occasionally deputise for the Project Footprint Director and will work closely with the Bath Abbey Operations Team.
The post-holder will act as a key point of contact for all consultants and contractors working on the Footprint Development Project. The post-holder will need to organise Footprint Project meetings on behalf of the Project Director, and will therefore need to be well organised and have excellent power point skills, be experienced at letter writing and recording accurate minutes of meetings.

Key Responsibilities
We are looking to appoint an exceptional and ambitious individual with experience in the construction industry. You will need to demonstrate:-
- a strong attention to detail along with the ability to discover potential risks for the Abbey;
- an ability to analyse contracts with an eye to reduce costs and increasing profits, while ensuring compliance with the law;
- experience managing contracts and familiarity with managing M&E and general Health and Safety legislation;
- that you can ensure that all our contracts conform to legislative requirements and meet our goals
- experience of inspecting and monitoring works;
- experience of building and maintaining strong relations with contractors, specialist suppliers and professional stakeholders
- negotiating contract terms with external partners
- reviewing and updating existing contracts

Areas to be assessed / Essential / DesirableQualifications /
- A good standard of education including GCSE Math’s and English
- Working experience in a similar role
- A relevant industry specific qualification would be desirable
- HNC/HND or a degree in a subject such as project management.
Experience/
knowledge /
- Previous experience in managing contracts and familiarity with managing M&E and general Health and Safety legislation;
- Knowledge of analysing contracts with an eye to reduce costs and increasing profits, while ensuring compliance with the law;
- Ability to ensure that all of our contracts conform to legislative requirements and meet our goals

- Advanced in the use of Microsoft Office, esp. Word and Outlook
- Experience of working in a busy office environment
- Negotiating skills
- Experience of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Experience of using other relevant IT packages
- Experience in maintaining databases
