The author examines and analyzes the status and causes of one of the global problems of our time –
the loss of food, and with it the problem of malnutrition and starvation in some parts of the world.
It is shown the loss of food production in both developed and developing countries on concrete examples. It is shown that one of the main causes of this problem is the absence of infrastructure in
the processing and packaging of products.
The author shows that modern packaging keeps food, reducing its losses and waste, saving material and energy resources. And flexible packaging for the food is retains its consumer properties with minimal cost of raw materials and resources.
Coffee and tea in Ukraine (the market, packaging, trends)

The article is presented an overview of the coffee and tea, their consumption in different countries compared to Ukraine. The author gives details about the state of Ukrainian market of tea and coffee, its main producers, imports and exports. There was a relationship of consumption of coffee and tea on many factors – price fluctuations in international markets, consumer culture, consumer purchasing power. It is shown trends in the market of coffee and tea in Ukraine in the coming years. The article is analyzed the packaging and packaging materials for coffee and tea, which are used in Ukraine, given their advantages and disadvantages, shows the main trends in the development of packaging for these beverages.

The colored glass containers for wine and beer (simulation and evaluation of light protective action)

Studied dimming properties of colored glass containers. The chemical and biochemical changes in wine and beer upon exposure to actinic radiation range. The transformations were studied by optical microscopy, spectral and chemical analysis. The radiation source used mercury-quartz lamp, flashtube and sunlight. A new method of estimating the light-shielding properties of the glass by simulation of photochemical processes with the help of light-sensitive silver halide X-ray film.

One of the stages of designing of packaging equipment is correctly selected and configured the system process communications. In the article the analysis of the system of the jet of gas flows on the basis of pneumatic actuators, the results of numerical experiment, performed on the basis of laws of conservation of energy and matter, determined by the rational values of the parameters of the system blower and the flow characteristics of the compressed air. On the basis of the conducted researches it is possible to make a diagnosis, modification and improvement of the pressure distribution and values of the characteristics of the system blower.

The use the pressure segment in flat cylinder die cutting press

The schematic analysis of die-cutting presses was conducted for making cardboard broach packaging. Found that the most effective in terms of reducing power consumption and equipment cost of production is die-cutting press of flat cylinder type. However, such defects as insufficient exactness and die-cutting quality limit the use area of flat cylinder presses. To increase their efficiency it is suggested to apply the segment of large radius in quality of pressure means. A fundamental scheme of flat cylinder press is resulted with the segment of pressure means, his grievance mechanisms are offered.
