Responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and oversight of IT Service Management (SM) (ITIL) disciplines, practices and tools across IT including Infrastructure Services, Telecommunications, Business Applications, Enterprise Technology and Risk Management, leading a team of seven (7) IT managers supporting the IT Service Desk, Performance Management, and Production Management teams, comprised of 57 employees and a $5.8 million budget. Additional responsibilities include oversight of major IT Service Management project implementations including unification of IT SM tools and processes within IT and Business Units, as well as system monitoring tools used by the IT Service Desk and Data Centers.

Production Services Manager – IT Infrastructure Operations, March 2007 to September 2010

Responsibilities included leading ITs' Service Management Initiative (ITIL), to incorporate cultural change based on industry best practice – with a focus on improved customer satisfaction through a more professional approach to service delivery; increased competence, capability and productivity of IT staff; improved systems/applications availability, thereby reducing costs per incident. Additional responsibilities include an ITIL focus on end to end production service of application suites provided by IT to AEP Business Units, being the focal point of contact into the Infrastructure production environment; pursuing complete incident reporting and root cause analysis; coordinating incidents and problem resolution across all Infrastructure teams; reviewing/classifying IT Enterprise Business Disruptions (EBDs) as part of the IT EBD Governance Team, as well as identifying service and hosting opportunities.

Manager, IT Production Management – IT Infrastructure Operations, June 2003 to March 2007

Managed 29 employees, including 2 Managers. Responsibilities included taking from concept to reality the implementation of tighter access controls and segregation of duties, which involved creating an IT department of two teams from scratch, working with internal and external departments towards achieving the vision of IT production integrity and creating new processes for oversight of changes to the IT Production and Disaster Recovery environments. These activities were in support of AEP adherence of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) General Computer Controls and moving towards IT general best practices. I managed to a $2.5M budget, lead and participated in IT Infrastructure Operations initiatives, and overseeing employee growth and development.

Manager, Help Services – IT Infrastructure Operations, June 2000 to June 2003

Managed 42 employees. Responsibilities included first call resolution for technology-related problems to over 20,000 employees, improving from 33% first call resolution in 2000 to 72% in 2002, working with internal and external departments towards achieving the vision of great customer service, managing to a $2.6M budget, facilitating and coordinating resolution efforts for major unplanned IT system outages, consolidating the AEP-CSW Help Desks during 2000 merger of American Electric Power and Central & South West Services. This was successfully completed in less than 6 months and $100,000 under budget.
