Purpose: Head Start is a comprehensive child development programs that serve children from three to age 5, and their families. Head Start is a child-focused program and has the overall goal of increasing the school readiness of young children in low-income families.
The four major components of Head Start are:

Enrollees for the 4-year-old class must be four by September 1
Enrollees for the 3-year-old class must be three by September 1.
Putnam County Head Start serves children with disabilities.
Eligibility Requirements:
· Must have child’s certified birth certificate
· Child’s immunization birth certificate
· Proof of child’s family income (w-2 forms, check stubs, etc.)
· Social security numbers (all family members living in house)
· Proof of residence (any household utility bill)

Georgia vehicle tags must be purchase within 30 days of establishing residency in Eatonton. You may obtain tags from the Putnam County Tax Commissioner’s office in the courthouse.
Driver’s Licenses

Electric Services is provided by Georgia Power in the City. They are located at 203 Oak Street. The phone number is 888-660-5890. Some area of the city has Tri County Electric services. They are located at 112 Recreation Blvd; the phone number is 706-485-6122 just before the jail house and the recreation center.
Gas Services
Natural gas services are provided by the city to its residents. Please contact City Hall at 706-485-3311 or www.eatontonga.us and click on the link for public utilities for rates and fees.
Water Service/Sewer Service
Water and Sewer services are provided by the Eatonton Putnam Water and Sewer Authority to city residents. Please contact them at 706-485-5253 for services, connections, rates, and fees.

Voter Registration Information
Georgia citizens have access to several convenient methods of registering to vote:
· Download and complete a voter registration application.
· Visit our office, public library, public assistance office, recruitment office, schools or other government offices for a mail-in registration form.
· E-mail your request for a voter registration form to us, or write us at Putnam County Board of Elections & Registration, 100 S. Jefferson Ave, Suite 217, Eatonton, GA 31024. Please include your name and mailing address.
· Registration is offered when you renew or apply for your driver's license at Department of Motor Vehicle Safety drivers license posts.
· College students can obtain Georgia voter registration forms, or the necessary forms to register in any state in the U.S., from their school registrar's office or from the office of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
Change of Residence
Voters are required to notify the board of registrars of their county of residence whenever they move.
If you move within the same county in which you are registered to vote and don't notify the registrar at least 30 days prior to an election, you may vote in your old polling place for that election. You must file a notice of your new address. This can be done by writing or visiting our office, or by submitting a new voter registration application.
If you move outside the county in which you are registered to vote within 30 days of an election, you may vote in your old precinct for that election.
If you move outside the county in which you are registered to vote in excess of 30 days prior to an election, you have lost your eligibility to vote in the county of your old residence. You must register to vote in your new county of residence. If you don't register to vote by the deadline, you cannot vote in that particular election.
