Position: Development Manager
Hours: 40
Directly Reports to: Director of Development
Summary:
The Development Manager is a strategic member of the development team and is responsible for helping successfully complete all fund raising efforts including annual campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, corporate and foundation activities, special events, sponsorships, stewardship programs, and capital and endowment campaign planning and implementation.
Duties:**
Event/Project Management:
Leads and coordinates all major development events including:
- Budget preparation and expense tracking
- Coordinate communications with event committees
- Prepare marketing materials for events, including invitations, sponsorship packages, programs, etc.
- Event logistics, vendor selection, invoice payments
- Guest and sponsor list creation and tracking
Coordinates the annual giving program including renewals, updates and identification of new prospects
Manages charity of choice activities
Stewardship Coordination:
Lead donor stewardship activities including event recognition, gratitude mailings, gifts, and personal calls
Development Support:
Implements donor research, friend-making activities, and follow-ups with potential donors
Assist in managing the Development Coordinator to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and donor and prospect tracking
Ensures donor stewardship and acknowledgements are being coordinated efficiently
Researches new and creative approaches for fundraising
Reviews donation data for development reports and general ledger reconciliation
Assists with creation of social media material for website, Facebook, YouTube, etc.
Attends weekly Development staff meetings, administration meetings and faculty/staff meetings
Supports and attends the Board Developmentand Marketing Committee meetings
Works to coordinate fundraising opportunities with Academy Prep Tampa
Assist the Development Director as needed.
Database Administration:
Manages all aspects of e-Tapestry database
Creates and runs queries as requested
Generates reports as requested
Develop and document database procedures for both campuses
Skills Required:
- Development management skills required
- Highly effective in event management, finance, and administration
- Advanced computer skills (proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Publisher, Photoshop)
- Ability to meet deadlines, work well with others and multi-task. Team player with a positive attitude
- Able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events that change priorities on a daily basis
- Professional maturity and diplomacy with visitors, partners, vendors, etc., in person, phone and written communication.
Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelor degree with 3-5 years experience in a senior level development position
- Experience in business management, finance and technology a plus
