TERMS & CONDITIONS
- The application closing date is final – no late applications will be accepted.
- The Business School will assess applications and decide which candidates will be awarded a Māori and Pacific Student Commuting Grant. The basis of selection will be those students who best meet the eligibility criteria and are deemed to havethe greatest distance/costs of travel to university and the greatest financial need. There is no guarantee that every applicant will receive a Commuting Grant.
- All students who have applied will be informed within one week of the application closing date if they have received a Māori and Pacific Student Commuting Grant (or not).
- Students who have received a Commuting Grant will need to visit the Go! Ticket Office, located in the City Campus Quad (Kate Edgar Commons building), where they will identify themselves as being the recipient of a Business School Māori and Pacific Student Commuting Grant. Students should showtheir student ID card, and possess an AT HOP card. The Go! Ticket Office will ‘top up’ the card, initially with $75. If students do not have an AT HOP Card they will need to purchase one at their own cost ($10).
- Students will return to the University Go! Ticket Office approximately once a month, and the card will be ‘topped up’ each time with $75. The ‘top up’ is available 8 times - from March through to early November. The total amount of provided to the student over this period is $600.
- If students’ commuting costs are more than $75 a month, they are personally responsible for this additional cost. Students can provide additional ‘top ups’ to their AT HOP card at their own cost.
- The Commuting Grant can only be received as ‘top ups’ on an AT HOP card. It cannot be exchanged for cash.
- Students will need to showtheir student ID card every time they seek a ‘top up’ at the University GO! Ticket Office.
- The Commuting Grant ‘top ups’ are only available from The University GO! Ticket Office. If a student wishes to ‘top up’ their AT HOP card at any other Auckland Transport outlet, this will be funded completely by the student. This is a University initiative, and not an Auckland Transport initiative.
- Students should apply to receive the Tertiary Concession on their AT HOP card to ensure that they receive the cheapest Auckland Transport fares. This can be done through the University GO! Ticket Office.
- ‘Top ups’ will cease if the student no longer attends university, or any of the information in the application form is subsequently found to be untrue or incorrect.
- The Business School reserves the right to cease ‘top ups’ if the student does not sit exams or attend mandatory lectures or tutorials.
