As Geographers we will focus on map work and fieldwork. Understanding what buildings we can find in our local environment, looking at the school grounds and maps of the local area. / Use simple fieldwork and observational skills to study the geography of their school and its grounds and the key human and physical features of its surrounding environment.
Use aerial photographs and plan perspectives to recognise landmarks and basic human and physical features;
Use simple compass directions (N, S, E, W) and locational/ directional language [e.g., near & far; left & right], to describe location of features & routes Identify seasonal & daily weather patterns in the UK
We will create a compass and add features we can see in each compass direction, landmarks, things we can see and hear in our school grounds.
We will create a street map of our local environment and add key features from our local walk along the way
As Historians we will study events beyond living memory with a focus on how transport has changed within living memory / Events beyond living memory
Create a simple timeline showing the history of transport
Create and label posters of transport beyond living memory adding key dates and designs

Filming the steps of a recipe
As Artists we will focus on observational drawing using different techniques and equipment when adding colour. / Use a range of materials creatively to design and make products
Develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space

As Scientists we will focus on the everyday materials. / Plants throughout the year and seasonal changes – Links to a tree in our schools grounds
