Audio-Technica Exhibits Dante™ Microphone Solutions: ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Microphone and ATND8677 Microphone Desk Stand

INFOCOMM, ORLANDO, FL, June 17, 2015 — Audio-Technica (booth 917), a leading innovator in transducer technology for over 50 years, is exhibiting its Dante™-enabled mic solutions at InfoComm 2015. Shown for the first time at InfoComm is the ATND8677 Microphone Desk Stand with Dante™ Network Output, along with the groundbreaking ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Network Microphone.

The ATND8677 Microphone Desk Stand fits gooseneck microphones with standard XLRM-type outputs, offering installers previously unavailable simplicity in adding gooseneck microphones to Dante audio networks. Removing the need for a separate standalone Dante audio interface, while adding a useful integrated switch with indicator functionality, the ATND8677 connects directly to the audio network via standard RJ-45 connector and structured cabling, allowing for flexibility in installation and quick re-locations. The sturdy metal base features a 3-pin XLRF-type in and Dante network output, a capacitive switch with a green/red LED light switch surround, switchable gain (+30dB/+40dB/+50dB), phantom power and selectable toggle/momentary switch operation. Features include UniGuard® RFI-shielding technology and UniSteep® low-cut filter.

The ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Network Microphone was the first to bridge the gap between audio and IT as the first wired microphone that transmits audio and control data together over Audinate’s Dante network protocol. A simple Ethernet connection allows the ATND971 Network Microphone to communicate across an existing network of Dante-enabled devices and, with the microphone’s programmable user switch, control any of those devices at the push of a button. A perfect fit for boardrooms and other meeting spaces, Audio-Technica’s ATND971 boundary mic features simple, inexpensive Ethernet connectivity, outstanding sound quality, a Red/Green LED status indicator and an integrated user switch to control anything from triggering a video camera pan/tilt to a room’s lighting preset and much more. And since Dante can support up to 512 bidirectional audio channels, this microphone offers an easily scalable solution. The ATND971 is powered by network PoE.

Audio-Technica has been working closely with industry leading DSP manufacturers such as Biamp®, Bose® and Symetrix™ to ensure complete GPIO-Over Dante Enabled Control software integration for simple, flexible operation without the need for analog audio and control cabling.

These solutions have been drawing praise across the industry. Steve Obenreder, Sales Manager at RPC Video, Inc., a leading provider of A/V technology solutions with offices in Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Harrisburg, PA, states, “The ATND8677 microphone bases with ES915C18 goosenecks were a very helpful addition to our council chambers project. The Dante infrastructure was already spec’d, so the microphones’ output directly to that system greatly simplified the hardware needed; most of our microphone A/D could just go away. Nicely done A-T!”
