Professional History:
January 2008 to Present –Department Chair and Professor of Business Law, Department of Economics and Finance, Arkansas State University, Jonesboro, AR (10,000 students-AACSB accredited)
August 1983 to December 2007- Served as a Professor of Business Law for Arkansas State University, and served on many campus committees covering a diversity of interests and programs.
August 1983 to December 1990 - Served as Director (1983-88) and Faculty Associate (1989-90) for the SmallBusinessDevelopmentCenter, a business development operation jointly funded by ArkansasStateUniversity and the U.S. Small Business Administration.
May 1986 to March 1988-Served as a legal consultant to the Penix Law Firm, Jonesboro, AR. Performed legal research, document preparation, client counseling, and trial assistance in a wide range of civil cases. Handled cases involving personal injuries, contract disputes, wrongful death, Uniform Commercial Code application, and close corporation and partnership controversies.

September 1987 to Present - Licensed by the state of Arkansas to practice law.
January to May 2007 – Served as intellectual property counsel for Arkansas State University’s Office of Research and Technology Transfer, during a sabbatical opportunity.
November/December 2005 2004– Taught a 4-week course in employment law for the University of Caen (France).
August 2000 to January 2001 – Served as associate corporate counsel for Belz-Burrow, a commercial development firm with extensive business activities across the United States, during a sabbatical opportunity.
