MADI Region 8 Tournament - Appraiser Information Sheet

Thank you for volunteering to make the Region 8 MADI Regional Tournament a great experience for 500+ students. We have 85 teams at this tournament. We could not be successful without your support. The entrance is near the lot. Follow the color coded signs to your assigned site.

When do I arrive and where do I go? Your RCM (Regional Challenge Master) will contact you for a specific meeting time but generally you should plan to arrive by 8:00 am. Stop by the Officials’ Lounge for coffee & snacks and then head to your assigned location. A complimentary lunch will be served in the Official’s Lounge during your break, you do not need to purchase lunch in the cafeteria. That lounge is conference room B-322

At our region Creature Feature andFeary Tales will start at 8 am appraiser arrival 7 am.

Where do I park? Park in the High School main parking lot. You will see the solar panels in the lot.

What do I bring? Enthusiasm, a well-rested body, a sense of humor, and any paperwork provided to you at your Appraiser training. We will provide all other materials needed, including lunch, water and snacks throughout the day.

What do I wear? Dress casually and comfortably. We will present you with a keepsake Officials Apron and pin at the morning meeting with your RCM. You will wear this all day to identify yourself as an Official. Also, we encourage you to wear the most creative headgear you can imagine, and enter the Appraisers’ Hat Contest during Closing Ceremonies. This event is a highlight for both teams and officials.

When can I go home? You will need to stay until ALL your teams have finished AND the Score Room Manager has given the all clear for your challenge. We anticipate Closing Ceremonies will begin at 5:30 pm and conclude about an hour later. We hope you will join us at Closing Ceremonies for the Appraisers’ Hat Contest.

Directions to Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School 390 Lincoln Road Sudbury MA 01776

From the West or from Rt. 495 Southbound:

  1. From Rt. 495 Southbound, take the Rt. 117 exit (Bolton).
  2. Take a right off the ramp, to go underneath the 495 overpass.
  3. About 1/4 mile down, take a right onto Rt. 85 South.
  4. (After 3 miles, this will take you to the Hudson Rotary, meeting up with Rt. 62.)
  5. At the stop sign, take a left onto Rt. 62 East.
  6. Go around the rotary to stay on Rt. 62 East.
  7. Take Rt 62 East through Hudson center until the traffic lights a mile outside town where it goes left.
  8. You go straight ahead (Hudson Road / Sudbury Road).
  9. Keep on the road for roughly six miles until the traffic lights in the center of Sudbury.
  10. Turn left there (just after the fire station) onto Concord Road.
  11. The high school is a mile and a quarter down on the right.
  12. Take a right at the white sign onto Lincoln Road and then follow the Parking Lot directions above.

From Rt. 9 or Rt. 495 Northbound:

  1. Take Rt. 495 North to the Rt. 9 East exit.
  2. Follow Rt. 9 East until you see a Super Stop-n-Shop on your right at a set of lights.
  3. Get in the right lane, and look for the Edgell Road ramp on your right.
  4. Take that exit to go up the ramp.
  5. Take a left at the lights to go over Rt. 9.
  6. Go straight at the next set of lights.
  7. Stay on Edgell Road until it ENDS at a T-intersection.
  8. Take a right onto Rt. 20 in Sudbury, then a left at that set of lights, heading toward Sudbury Center.
  9. Go straight through the stop sign, and straight through the next set of lights a mile or so later. (This is Concord Street)
  10. You'll then go past graveyards on your right and left. Lincoln-Sudbury Regional high school is about a mile and a quarter down on your right after the lights.
  11. Take a right at the white sign onto Lincoln Road and then follow the Parking Lot directions above.

From Rt. 95 (Rt 128):

  1. Take the Rt. 20 exit (exit #26) in Waltham; this puts you on a rotary.
  2. Follow the rotary around to take Rt. 20 West.
  3. After a few miles, take a right at a set of lights onto Rt. 27 (Concord/Sudbury).
  4. After a few miles after that, take a right at a set of lights onto Concord Rd.
  5. (If you see a green sign that indicates taking a right to stay on Rt. 27, you've missed Concord Rd.)
  6. Once you're on Concord Rd., you'll go past graveyards on your right and left.
  7. The High School is a mile and a quarter down on the right.
  8. Take a right at the white sign onto Lincoln Road and then follow the Parking Lot directions above.

From Rt. 2:

  1. Traveling East on Route 2 turn right at the Emerson hospital traffic light.
  2. Follow this road until it merges at a fork and stop sign.
  3. You will take the right onto Sudbury Road.
  4. If traveling West on Route 2 from Lexington turn left at the light just past Arena Farms.
  5. This is Sudbury road.
  6. There is a gas station on one corner and not much else at this intersection.
  7. Stay on Sudbury Road and Cross 117 (a traffic light) and keep going until the road ends at Pantry Road.
  8. There is a lovely sign pointing you to the school.
  9. Take a left turn here and continue until you see the next sign for LSHS or the next possible left which is Lincoln Road.
  10. Then you will have multiple signs for each of the school entrances.
