Pansea hotels and resorts in Asia now promoted under the

Pansea Orient-Express Hotels

banner

Pansea Orient-Express Hotels was formed at the start of 2004 by the partnership of Pansea Hotels & Resorts and Orient-Express Hotels.

There are currently five operational Pansea hotels, with a sixth under construction. They are located in Luang Prabang, Laos; Rangoon, Burma; Siem Reap, Cambodia; Bali, Indonesia and Koh Samui on the Gulf of Siam in Thailand. The Pansea Hanging Gardens in Ubud, currently under construction, is scheduled to open at the beginning of next year.

Orient-Express Hotels own 40 deluxe hotel, restaurant, tourist train and river cruise properties in 17 countries, including the Hotel Cipriani in Venice, the Villa San Michele in Florence, Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons in England, the Ritz in Madrid and the Hotel de la Cite in Carcassonne, France. It also has investments in the Eastern & Oriental Express train which operates between Singapore and Bangkok and the Road to Mandalay cruise ship which operates on the Irrawaddy River in Burma.

Many of the guests on the Eastern & Oriental Express and the Road to Mandalay also visit the countries in which Pansea is present, and some of them already stay in Pansea hotels. Pansea found it shared values and vision about the development of tourism experiences in special destinations, and so was delighted to have been able to reach the agreement with Orient-Express Hotels. Orient-Express Hotels will contribute greatly to the development of business through its international sales and marketing network.

The Pansea group will continue to remain under the control and management of its existing executives, Robert Molinari and Stanislas Rollin, and will retain its existing personnel. The Pansea hotels and developments situated out of Asia (in Tunisia and the Caribbean) will remain under the Pansea brand.

The existing Pansea branded properties will now bear new names (please see below) and be reunited under the banner of Pansea Orient-Express Hotels. The new names aim to give each property a more unique status, and we are confident that the new tagline (“A Pansea Orient-Express Hotel”) will broaden the appeal of the properties to the existing clientele of both Pansea Hotels & Resorts and Orient-Express Hotels.

The Pansea website will be completely upgraded in the coming months and retitled Pansea Orient-Express Hotels.

We should like to thank all the guests of our resorts and all the tour operators, travel agents, and other groups and individuals who have valuably supported our hotels to date. We look forward to continuing to working closely with you all and to welcoming you and your clients to our properties.

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to seek further information from our Directors of Operations, Franz von Merhart () and Jose Moral (), or contact our offices:
