Town of Trinity Council Meeting October 26, 2015

The Town of Trinity met at a regularly scheduled council meeting October 26, 2015 in the Trinity Municipal Building with the meeting being called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Vaughn Goodwin.

Members present were Ben Moultrie, Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Scott Owens was absent.

Motion made to approve the minutes of the Special Call Meeting October 14, 2015 by Gordon with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

Motion made to pay the attached bills in the amount of $ 5,770.00 by Gordon with a 2nd by Chris. All voted yes.

Motion made to take into immediate consideration Ordinance Number 2015-05 to Amend Ordinance Number 00-4 deleting the entire language of Section D and substituting language as attached by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Chris Lemley. Voting yes were Ben Moultrie, Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Ordinance Number 2015-05 by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Gordon Burden. Voting yes were Ben Moultrie, Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to take into immediate consideration Ordinance Number 2015-06 Amending Ordinance Number 2001-7 providing an alternative procedural process for repetitive weed nuisance violations by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Gordon Burden. Voting yes were Ben Moultrie, Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to adopt Ordinance Number 2015-06 by Richard Fortson Jr. with a 2nd by Gordon Burden. Voting yes were Ben Moultrie, Chris Lemley, Mayor Vaughn Goodwin, Richard Fortson Jr., and Gordon Burden. Voting no were none.

Motion made to approve hiring Elizabeth Denard for the court interpreter at $25.00 per hour by Gordon with a 2nd by Richard. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve AMIC Insurance for a 3 year renewal period with the first year at $46,502.00 with the 2% discount by Richard with a 2nd by Gordon. All voted yes.

Motion made to approve paying $25,311.35 plus a daily accrual of $2.50 from the general fund to pay off the Renasant Bank loan by Chris with a 2nd by Richard. All voted yes.

The council has cancelled the November 23rd and December 28th Council Meetings due to the Holidays. If needed they will call a Special Meeting. The Mayor updated everyone on the Old Highway 24 project, the contract has been signed and the towns match sent in. He spoke with the Saputo representative today and will be getting them an itemized list of expenses for the grant.
