(5 points) / zero
What will be achieved?
(10 Points) / Ability to perform advanced diagnostic related lab activates in small groups allowing more hands-on training for the students. Lab environment will reflect automotive and advanced transportation industry standards.
Justification: Why should this be done?
(20 points) / Ability to effectively perform advanced diagnostic lab activities is greatly diminished due to the lack of specialty tools and diagnostic equipment. The tool quality and selection is sub standard and does not support multiple work groups. Without upgraded equipment NATEF certification is uncertain.

The current equipment is not used in the mainstream repair facilities.
Automotive Mission Statement: “… the student should be ready for employment in that specialty area and also be prepared to take the ASE Mechanic’s certification test…” Current equipment does not adequately prepare the students for employment or the ASE tests.
Does this proposal fulfill a mandate? / Required for NATEF certification
Does this proposal address a safety issue? / Yes. The new equipment is safer than existing alternatives due to non-existing equipment.
Will this proposal benefit other areas of the college? / Yes. The agriculture program, the public safety academy and sometimes M & O use some of the specialty tools or equipment for proper service and maintenance of their fleets.
Will this proposal impact or require accommodations from other areas? / No
