Founding and idea of the association
On 13/04/2004 under the name "bd sport active” an association has been founded, based in Worb/Switzerland under Article 60 and following of the Swiss Civil Code by two trained football coaches (UEFA B License). The association aims to support sports projects in the field of youth by their own projects or joint ventures with existing foreign projects.
The idea of the association is to improve the living conditions and prospects for children and youth in developing countries. To create opportunities for the population to build up in their country and their own resources an existence. Provide training to increase the chance of finding a good job to make a study and / or to pave the way for a sports career. The basic idea is therefore in the combination of sports, education and culture.

Brief history of the association activities
2003 - 2006 Support a football school in Tarrafal / Cabo Verde with material donations, coach education, management of football training, organization of events, conceptual work in training "Football"
2007-2008 To support projects in Burkina Faso, Zambia and Mali with material donations
2008 On the basis of experience gained and lessons learned in working in Tarrafal matured the idea of their own, guided by our ideas project. A concept has been developed.
2009 Preliminary investigation in Calheta do São Miguel, Cape Verde for the development of its own sports academy. Meetings with political and education authorities. Implementation of a summer football camps. The association "bd sport active cabo verde" is registered in Cape Verde. In cooperation with local education authorities for receiving a first selection takes place in the Academia.
January 2010 Start of the “Academia do Desporto, Educação e Cultura (ADEC) in Calheta do São Miguel with a mixed group of football (girls / boys) in age from U-10. Provision of training lessons, homework assistance, academic support classes, course offerings to personal development.
April 2010 Recording the activities of a girl running group aged 13 - 18 years. Conducting training sessions, organization of competitions, English lessons, course offerings to personal development.
June 2010 recording the activities of a group of girls playing at the age of 8 - 12 years.
Objective: Develop a softball game group.

Short concept of Academia
The compulsory school in Cape Verde consists of only 6 years of schooling. Many of the children finished their schooling at age 12, since the state high school must be paid by the parents and the money often does not exist (big families).
Means of appeal of sports is our commitment start at this point, and supports the public schools. As part of the Academia, we offer along with the training in sports and additional education, specific support to the overall personality development, accommodation and meals

Training priorities
School education
Individual and additional supplementary support of children in primary and secondary school age by homework assistance and remedial instruction. Deepen the learning materials.Emphasis is placed on the subjects of reading, writing, mathematics and foreign languages.

Sports training (including implementation)
Soccer
Since January 2010 the first group is composed of girls and boys aged from 8 - and 9-year-old (U-10). The group includes 15 children. After a pilot phase, they enter in the fall of 2011, in the age group U-12. Simultaneously, a new selected U-10, which will take the same path of training. This U-teams continue on the U-14, U-16 to U-18. At the end of the U-18 ends the training in the academia and the young people either to a secure professional training, education or the way as footballers are open.
The training is based on the principles of the educational concept of the Swiss Football Association (SFV).
The training courses are per age group to 15 - limit 16 players or players. The recording is on the selection principle. Criteria for inclusion in the Academia are academic prerequisites and sporting aptitude. Training contracts with the parents or legal guardians, children, and the Academia are completed.

Running group
The running group is open to girls aged 13 to 18 years. The group size is limited to 20 runners. With the achievement of 19 years, the membership ends. Afterwards, the young women-with our support-will be new trainies / leaders of a running group in the Academia.
The memberships are completed under contracts between the parents or legal guardian, the runners and the Academia.
The training course is based on cooperation with the running sporting goods manufacturers "Brooks Switzerland”.
Girls Game Group (Softball Group)
The girls in this group are 8 - up to 12 years old. The group size is not in the current construction phase is not limited and there are no mutual contractual obligations. The group aim is to make the girls familiar with the various forms of ball games and different types of "the new games" and especially prepare for softball. The focus is on fine and gross motor skills, as well as dealing with rules. The girls have the opportunity at the end of the 12th yearto join the running group, or move on to an "older" group only playing Softball to get professional into his game. Due to the qualifications and age it is also possible to enter in the Soccer group.
The running and playing ball group is only open to girls. We are making an active contributioninpromoting women's and girls' sports in Cabo Verde. In this sense we join girls and boys in our footballgroup, to head out for equality
