Year 6 Leavers

Staff
We say a sad goodbye and farewell to Mrs Adrill, Mrs Wood, Mrs Roberts and Mrs Turner. We thank them for all their hard work and support and wish them all the very best for the future.
Thank Yous
Thank you to all the parents that have helped with getting the children changed for swimming and for running morning and after school clubs and activities for the children.
Thank you to the Fete Committee and parent/helpers for organising another amazing summer Fete and raising £5,800.
Thank you to all the parents that helped to make the Infant and Junior Sports Day a great success. Thank you also to the parents that sold the sports day ice-creams afterwards.
Class Drop-in Sessions For The New Academic Year
Class drop-in sessions for parents will be held on:-
Wednesday, 6thSeptember at 3.15pm – 4.15pm
Thursday, 7thSeptember at 3.15pm – 4.15pm
The class drop-in sessions are an informal opportunity for your child to show you where they sit, where their peg is, the resources that they use, their work on the walls etc. The teacher will also be available to meet you and answer any questions/queries that you may have about the school day. There will be a number of hand-outs for you to collect and read in your own time. There is no need to sign up for these sessions.
Sporting Success
We have had a very successful end of the year on the sporting front. Our Years 3 & 4 swimming team finished runners-up in the cluster gala. Our Years 5 & 6 athletes won the Woodcote cluster, South Oxfordshire and Oxfordshire Championships. Our Year 3 & 4 athletes won the Woodcote cluster competition and were 4th in the South Oxfordshire finals. Our girls’ Kwik cricket team finished runners-up in the County Finals and progressed to represent Oxfordshire in the South-West finals at Clifton College Bristol, eventually being eliminated by Somerset.
Village in Bloom Judging
We were incredibly proud of the green-fingers club who impressed the ‘Village In Bloom’ judges with their knowledge of the courtyard garden. The children were also filmed by a camera crew and may feature in a BBC documentary in the Spring. Watch this space!
Reading ‘Summer Challenge’ 2017 – Oxfordshire Libraries
Animal Agents, the Summer Reading Challenge begins on 15th July until 16th September. For further details, please go to www.animal-agents.org.uk
Last Day of Term
The school will finish at the earlier time of 2.00pm on Friday, 21st July. For a minimum donation of 50p per family, children can wear their own clothes to school instead of the normal school uniform. Money raised will go to Great Ormond Street Hospital.
