  1. Confirm Internship (CEN584) is on iPOS for appropriate semester(s).
  1. Review the 5 required CE (EE) internship forms at

  • Academic Unit Letter
  1. The CE(EE) Employer Letter should be completed by the student and sent to the employer for signature.
  1. Obtain faculty mentor signature on registration request form.
  1. Electronically complete the CE (EE) Academic Unit Letter and email toyour graduate advisor so it can be printed on ASU letterhead.

  1. Take completed Student Signup Form and Employer Letter to your graduate advisor,Lynn, Toni, or Sno, to accompany the Student Checklist, Internship Registration Request andAcademic Unit Letter for electrical engineering review and signature.
  1. Once the internship has approval, thegraduate advisor will enter permission for student to register for the internship (CEN 584) creditinMyASU.
  1. Student should bring the CPT packet to ISSC for processing and approval (may take 7-10 working days), the packetshould include:
  • Original signed Employer Letter
  • Student signup letterSigned
  • Academic Unit Letter on letterhead
  • Copy of iPOS with Internship (CEN 584) for appropriate semester(s)
  • Photocopy of Passport
  • Photocopy of I-94 (front and back)
  1. Student will pick up new I-20 from ISSC when notified it is available.
  1. After the internship period ends, a minimum five page report is required before a grade and credit is given. Please see the CE Graduate Student Handbook for complete instructions on the details that should be included in the report. The final report should be submitted to the Industry supervisor for comments and approval, then to your graduate advisor for Graduate Program Chair approval.

Grading criteria for the internship is Pass or Fail. A five page written report is required at the end of the internship. Please see the Internship Guide for report criteria. A grade will not be posted until the written report is submitted and approved by both the industry mentor and the supervising faculty.
