Other application requirements. Provide an academic transcript (scanned and emailed) OR sent a short description of the courses you have taken and grades obtained. We are interested in the geology courses you have taken. At least 1 geology course is required for undergraduate students, and the major must be geology.
Provide a paragraph describing your research interests and future plans for geology. The trip is geared towards learning more about geochemistry and petrology, geophysics, structural geology, and tectonics. We will examine igneous (intrusive and extrusive), metamorphic (wide range of conditions), and sedimentary rocks. Which would interest you the most and why?
Provide a paragraph any travel abroad experiences and/or why you would want to travel to Turkey. International travel abroad experience is NOT required for this opportunity. We are interested in what your expectations are about Turkish culture and geology and what you could get out of the experience.
