Competition Rules
1.Order of play
Sets are played in the following order. 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 1 & 3, 1 & 2, 2 & 3, 1 & 3
2.Substitutes
Players are responsible for organising a substitute from the list of “swingers” or Bye Team if they cannot play. A substitute cannot play at a lower level than their number. i.e. a number 1 swinger cannot substitute at number 2 in a team. However a substitute can play at a higher level than their number. i.e. a number 2 can play at number1 in a team.
IMPORTANT: Players arranging a substitute must advise the Number 1 player of their team. Number 1 players arranging a substitute must advise the Number 2 player of their team.
3.Deuce
To speed up play, a deuce will be settled by a sudden death point. i.e. when the score is 40 all, the next point will decide the game. However the serve must be received by a player at the same level as the server.
4.Finals
The final is between the teams that finish in the top two positions. Other teams play off to determine the other placings.
5.Wet Weather Cancellation
If the matches are cancelled due to wet weather an SMS will be sent to the Number 1 player of each team on Thursday morning as soon as a decision is made. The Number 1 player is then responsible for advising the other two members of the team. Teams will be awarded 4 points each and the bye team will still receive 8 points.
