MICROSENS commits Itself to the Smart Building Communications Standard and becomes a New Member of the IP500® Alliance
Hamm, 11 November 2015 – euromicron AG commits itself to the propagation of a homogeneous Smart Building Communications Standard and, thus, supports together with its subsidiary MICROSENS GmbH & Co. KG the IP500® Alliance as a new member. The decentralized micro-access points are equipped with IP500 wireless modules in order to support the setup and the propagation of IP500 wireless networks in this way. They integrate all components of premises automation and, thus, ensure interoperability, particularly of security-relevant applications.
The industry initiative IP500 founded in 2007 unifies more than 30 renowned vendors of Smart Building solutions. In the course of its activities over several years, the initiative has developed a platform which makes it possible to integrate all components of premises automation into a wireless communications network. Based on internationally renowned standards, such as IEEE 802.15.4, IPv6, 6LowPAN, IPsec, BACnet, and AES128, IP500 networks ensure a seamless interoperability between various security-relevant applications, such as fire alerts, alarming, video-monitoring, or access control. The platform is available to all members of the IP500 Alliance as a turn-key solution and can be integrated into existing products in the form of special wireless modules.
MICROSENS will equip its decentralized micro-access points with these IP500 wireless modules. They are operated in combination with an intelligent MICROSENS micro-switch and can be administrated with the help of a central Network Management Platform (NMP). As a result, WLAN access points are provided which permit a stable and reliable connection of all Smart Building components to the superordinated wireless network infrastructure. With the implementation of the platform, MICROSENS pushes the propagation of IP500 networks and, thus, contributes to the implementation of a homogeneous communications standard on the sector of Smart Building solutions.
"As one of the leading German systems integrators, we have identified a big potential in the establishment of this overall communications platform," explains Jürgen Hansjosten of the euromicron management board the joining of the IP500 Alliance by the euromicron subsidiary MICROSENS. "Such a platform is indispensable for the seamless interaction of all Smart Building components. With the help of the IP500 standard it is possible, for instance, to consequently avoid possible connection gaps in wireless networks for low-power sensors."
"With euromicron, a 'Big Player' among the systems integrators has joined our Alliance," welcomes Helmut Adamski, CEO & Chairman of the IP500 Alliance, the accedence of MICROSENS. "euromicron primarily focusses on Smart Building solutions for office buildings and industrial environments. And precisely this is also the focus of the IP500 Alliance."
