IOWA Testing this WEEK!

Students in Kindergarten and 5th grade are taking the Iowa test this week. The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is a norm-reference test. The results of the assessment are used to provide information about your child’s academic progress and as one of the components for Gifted and Talented identification. When we receive the results of the testing, a copy will be sent home to you and to the teachers. The results include your child’s performance on that day and suggestions for you to use at home.

Montessori Moment

Peace is a practical principle of human civilization and social organization that is based on the very nature of man. Peace does not enslave him; rather, it exalts him.... And because it is based on man’s nature, it a constant, a universal principle that applies to all human beings. This principle must be our guide in building a science of peace and educating men for peace. – Dr. Maria Montessori

CONSTRUCTION UPDATES!

Construction preparation has started! You will see the safety fencing going in along with the relocation of some of our trees. Eventually, the multi-purpose room, temporary building by the pond and the temporary bathroom building will be torn down, however, it appears that we will continue to be able to use the current buildings until we leave for winter break! I will keep you posted as we proceed. Thank you in advance for beingflexible as we navigate this new opportunity!
