elcome to the exciting world of2nd grade. It is apleasure to have your child in my class. I need you to check your child’s folder daily and assist him/her with their homework. Your child will be expected to read 2 books per week and take AR Tests. We will also read class novels. Reading is critical. There will be an AR competition. The first boy and girl to meet their goal will receive a gift certificate. Everything I send home is important! I need 100% attendance daily. School is very important and in order to receive effective instruction everyone must be present. If your child is out of school sick please send in an excuse within three days of his/her return. Please look for me to call and entertain all questions by August 25, 2015. We have a lot of work to do in a small amount of time, therefore I need all my parents on board with me. If I send home fluency sheets please practice. If I send home comprehension passages, listen to your child read, record errors, and make flashcards for missed words. Flash your child periodically with those missed words. Also, adding and subtracting fluently is another issue. Use this site for drills
