Honorarium Policy

Honorariums assist office holders meet some of the incidental out of pocket costs associated with the position held. They do not cover all costs but, instead, help reduce the financial burden on the individual. Polocrosse has limited funds and simply can’t afford to pay every person for their total contributions. Consequently, with many making valuable contributions to polocrosse for free, great care and due diligence must be exercised to ensure that their worked is not under valued through the payment of disproportionate honorariums to a few. Ultimately, the reward to the individual needs to be the knowledge that they have made a valued contribution to a sport that, over time, has provided them, their families and their friends with much satisfaction and enjoyment.

Policies

·  PA NSW will only pay for morning and afternoon teas and lunches where meetings are expected to run before and after these times.

·  Dinner and breakfast is the responsibility of the individual and is to be paid for at the time of consumption.

·  The State will not purchase alcohol for PA NSW members under any circumstance.

·  SEO will use the government rate of food allowance where meals are to be provided.

·  All Office holders may seek reimbursement for larger out of pocket costs they may incur. (for example fuel to attend a working with children meeting etc)

·  All Honorariums are to be reviewed annually at the AGM as a standing agenda item.

·  Any proposed changes are to be provided to the NSW Council in a clear table format that shows the current and proposed rates accompanied by the total cost of the proposal.
