After Lunch but Before ACES Snack Time – Cafeteria Staff, Custodial Staff and ACES Staff

1)Cafeteria Staff: Clean and sanitize dining room tables after lunch; prepare sanitizing solution bottle and soapy water bottle and leave in designated area for ACES use.

2)Custodial Staff: Sweepand mopdining room floors leaving designated tables in fold-up position; empty trash cans prior to ACES students’ arrival.

3)ACES Staff: Wash hands using proper hand washing procedures; spray soapy water on tables to be used for ACES snack; wipe clean with paper towels; spray these clean tables with sanitizing solution; allow tables to air-dry if time permits, if not, wipe dry with paper towels.

ACES Snack Distribution and Snack Time – Cafeteria Staff and ACES Staff

1)Cafeteria Staff: Prepare appropriate snack components according to the ACES and Tutorial Snack Menus; alert ACES site coordinator if a substitute snack component is to be served; ensure alternate snacks are prepared for students with a diet order.

2)ACES Staff: Ensure students wash hands before entering serving line; wash own hands in cafeteria kitchen hand-wash sink using proper hand washing procedures.

3)ACES Students and Staff: Pick up/receive snack components, mats and napkinswhile going through line; ensure students use program’s method to provide name/number to Cafeteria Manager; help students move quickly and quietly through the line; assist students as needed.

4)Cafeteria Manager: Use SchoolCare rosters provided by ACES site coordinator, enter snack data into CMS software – at Area-Eligible schools (Free Snacks) the manager keys in the total number of Student snacks and the total number of Adult snacks served, at Non-Area-Eligible schools (Paid Snack) manager enters students’ number into CMS along with the total number of Adult snacks served.

5)Cafeteria Manager: Make snack components accessible to the ACES site coordinator so s/he can distribute them to ACES students who did not receive snack prior to the cafeteria manager’s required leave time; lock kitchen doors/secure kitchen area before departing for the day.

6)ACES Site Coordinator: Use own cafeteria key to access the kitchen if needed; relock the door upon leaving.

7)ACES Staff: After Snack Time, clean and sanitize snack tables; have students wash hands before moving to the next activity; wash own hands.

End of Day– ACES Staff and Custodial Staff

1)ACES Site Coordinator: Return all cafeteria items to place designated by manager; ensure water at hand-wash sinks and dish sinks (if sinks were used for toy washing) is turned off; ensure kitchen areas used by ACES are returned to state left by manager.

2)ACES Site Coordinator: Ensure milk box lid is closed and electrical plug is securely in outlet; ensure doors from dining room to kitchen are closed and locked (if doors can be secured).

3)ACES Staff: Tidy and organize ACES materials and areas; clean and sanitize ALL cafeteria tables used by ACES.

4)Custodial Staff: Ensure cafeteria and other areas used by ACES are cleaned for next school day as per District’s Custodial Cleaning procedures; secure all school doors and set alarm system before departing for the day.
