Dear Parent/Carer,
The English Department at Hodgson Academy are committed to ensuring that students are afforded as many new and interesting learning experiences as possible and in line with this commitment, are proposing to run an educational visit to the Grand Theatre in Blackpool on the afternoon of Wednesday 19th December 2012.
This is a wonderful opportunity for students to see how a pantomime is staged with the performance of ‘Cinderella’. More importantly, this educational visit will further enrich the learning experience of the ‘Pantomimes’ scheme of work that will be studied by all Year 7 students in January. The cost of this trip will only be £12, and includes transportation to the theatre; therefore it is your responsibility to ensure the safe collection of your child after the performance which is scheduled to end at 3.45pm. Please can parents/carers responsible for picking up students arrive promptly, to collect their child from outside Dixons store, directly opposite the theatre entrance on Church Street, where we shall be waiting with students. You will appreciate that, with the numbers concerned, it is imperative that they are collected on time, and that the teacher in charge is informed of their collection, so as to ensure their safety.
To guarantee a prompt exit from school, students will need a packed lunch so that they have opportunity to eat before we leave for the theatre.
Students wishing to be part of this experience should return the reply slip at the bottom of this letter to their English teacher by Friday 28th September 2012.

We agree to our child: Form attending the Grand Theatre trip on Wednesday 19th December 2012 and also take responsibility for their safe collection from the theatre.
