Post: Service Delivery Administrator (EDGES)
Responsible To: Chief Executive
Reports To: Service Delivery Manager
Base: Belfast (Newtownabbey)
Background to the project:
The EDGES project will provide an evidence informed, specialist ‘earlier intervention’ service for young people primarily between the ages of 13 – 17, who are on the ‘edge of care, custody and / or education.
These young people are coming to the regular attention of the police for non-offence related behaviour, and their attendance or behaviour in education indicates a need for intervention. They are also likely to be at risk of homelessness in later adolescence and to feature in the Not in Employment, Education or Training, (NEETS) population post compulsory school education.
Main Responsibilities
Secretarial/Administrative
To carry out the secretarial and administrative tasks necessary for the smooth operation of the service, to a high standard and within reasonable time limits.
To ensure that returns and reports to external agencies and to the Central/Regional office, and completed to a high standard and within reasonable time limits.
To assist in the complication of maintenance plans and support the service manager in ensuring that all necessary maintenance work is completed on the service buildings.
Reception/Liaison
Along with other staff, to provide cover for the service admissions telephone line when required.
To respond to enquiries, take and record referrals and book appointments where appropriate.
To support customer relationship management through the coordination and distribution of reports
and information to referring professionals, in accordance with published guidance and procedure.
To liaise with staff in other Start360 locations and outside agencies, as necessary.
Support Viability of the Service
To provide administrative support to admissions process, including securing third party reports as requested and updating management information systems as required.
To provide administrative support to activities promoting the service and supporting utilisation.

Records Management
All Start360 employees are legally responsible for all records held, created or used as part of their business within Start360 including client, corporate and administrative records whether paper based or electronic and also including emails. All such records are public records and are accessible to the general public, with limited exceptions, under the Freedom of information Act 2000, the Environmental Information regulations 2004 and the Data Protection Act 1998. Employees are required to be conversant with Start360’s records management and to seek advice about it if in doubt.
Pay and Terms and Conditions:
Salary: Pts 12- 17 (£15,523- £17,372)
Hours: Full-time (37 Hours per week) inclusive of evening work and occasional weekends which will be paid on a TOIL basis.
Holidays: 25 days per year, this increases after 5 years to 27 and to 30 days after 10 years service. This also includes 12 statutory days, 1 birthday day and 1 Christmas Shopping day.
Probation: You will serve a probationary period of normally six months.
Waiting List: A waiting list may be compiled for any similar temporary or permanent vacancies that arise in the next 12 months.

The support provided by Start360 will be community-based and will ensure that a partnership approach is taken with all relevant local organisations. Our ‘toolkit’ of supports will be tailored to each young person and their family, based on our mission that ‘change starts here’.
Young people referred into EDGES will also have access to a range of other supports provided by Start360’s other services in the areas of health, employability and justice.
