2017 Ultimate Golf Pool – www.UltimateGolfPool.com

Now that the football season is winding down, what are you going to do to satisfy your wagering compulsion?

Why not invest $100 in the 2017 Ultimate Golf Pool. Here’s how it works:

You assemble a team of PGA professionals, and based on their weekly earnings, compete against other pool teams for great prizes.

Attached is the list of golfers you can choose from. Listed along with the player’s name, money won and 2016 PGA tour earning’s rank is Point Value. As you can see, the more money a player won, the higher his point value. Your mission is to assemble a team of golfers, from this list only, to compete weekly against other teams in this pool. Here is a summary of the rules:

·  Your team’s total point value cannot exceed 27 points.

·  Minimum of 2, Maximum of 7 golfers to start – PLAYER SWAP at mid year.

·  You can only pick a player once (no cloning).

·  If more than 1 person picks the same group of players, the person that pays for their picks first gets to keep that group of players. The others have to pick again.

·  Each week, we total the prize money won by the PGA players for each team in the pool, and the team that wins the most money wins the weekly pot. Any bonus money earned from the Fed/Ex cup competition will NOT be included in the pool, only winnings from the tour events listed below.

·  No limit on # of entries, as long as each is accompanied by $100.

The pool will begin with the CareerBuilder Challenge (Jan. 19), and ends with The TOUR Championship (Sept.24). That is 35 weeks, covering 38 tournaments, listed on the entry form.

Since there are two tournaments during some of the weeks, we will be using the total winnings from both events. Also, if a tournament is cancelled or rescheduled past The TOUR Championship, that week will not be counted and the winnings for that week will be added to the overall payout.

PRIZES

All prizes are based on the prize money won by your PGA team. There will be 34 weekly payouts, total year payouts (1st – 4th place), and total 1st half and total 2nd half payouts.

Since we don’t know how many players we will have in this year’s pool, we cannot establish exact prize values at this time. However, this is approximately what the payouts will be:

- Weekly prizes (1st & 2nd) – 65% of total pot, or 1.7%/week. Remaining payouts are based on the 35% left in the pot:

- 1st Place, most total $$ for the season - 40% of remaining pot after weekly prizes are paid.

- 2nd Place, most total $$ for the season - 25% of remaining pot

- 3rd Place, most total $$ for the season - 10% of remaining pot

- 4th Place, most total $$ for the season - 5% of remaining pot

- 1st half, most total $$ - 7.5% of remaining pot

- 2nd half, most total $$ - 7.5% of remaining pot + fees from player swap (see below)

- Other prizes (best of the worst, last place, etc.) - 5% of remaining pot

As an example only, last year we had 139 players, and the weekly prize was $330 ($280 for first, $50 for second), and the total year prizes were $1,000 for 1st, $550 for 2nd, $325 for 3rd, and $150 for 4th. The 1st half and 2nd half prizes were $250+ each, and the rest goes to miscellaneous prizes. Disclaimer: I have the right to limit the size of the pool, so get your picks in early.

The actual prizes will be posted on the UGP web site once the pool starts.

PLAYER SWAP

Again this year, you will be able to swap some of your players for a new player or two. This will be done to start the 2nd half, and will cost you $25 dollars. I will send out a mid year player list with revised points. You will be able to swap one or some of your players for a different player(s), as long as the new player point values do not exceed the value of the players being swapped. The fees from all player swaps will be added to the 2nd half prize % listed above.

Official rules, weekly results, standings and other fun stuff will be posted to the Official UGP website, www.UltimateGolfPool.com

Please submit your team(s) to me using the following form (remember to include the PGA player number listed, makes it easier for me). You can email , or mail your picks to me. However, the picks are not final until the check has cleared. Deadline for receiving checks will be January 18, 2017. Also, PayPal is the preferred method of payment.

Feel free to pass this along to anyone that might be interested in joining the fun. Good luck to all!!!

This year, we added some “wildcard” players, as follows:

NM16 – Eligible for PGA Tour status in 2017 based on 2016 Non Member winnings, may or may not join US Tour in 2017

NM17 – Non PGA tour members in 2017, limited to 12 PGA tour events in 2017 (but usually play the big ones!!);

Web or yellow box – 2017 PGA tour members that earned PGA status from the 2016 Web.com tour.

Also, we eliminated some of the players that lost their exempt status (126 – 150 place on the money list), replaced with some veterans that still have status on the PGA tour.
