Muddy Pumpkin Farms is a family farm located on 600+ acres of beautiful rolling hills above the confluence of the Missouri and White Rivers. We grow chemical-free vegetables, herbs, and melons using organic techniques and building the organic material in the soil. We are transitioning the pasturelands into a diverse patchwork of permaculture, orchards and vegetable crop production and exploring the transition to organic and/or biodynamic certification. We will attend farmers markets in Chamberlain, Rapid City and Sioux Falls. We also are offering a harvest season shares for our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) this for the summer of 2011. Our specialty is melons. We grew 19 varieties this last year. We are also excited to offer a wide range of culinary herbs and heirloom tomato varieties this coming year.
We are looking for persons to help staff our farmers market stands in Sioux Falls and Rapid City (potentially Spearfish as well). You would be responsible for showing up at least 30 minutes before the market starts to help with set up and potentially running the booth on your own if we have grocery / restaurant deliveries to make. We are looking for someone who can staff all three markets in either Sioux Falls or Rapid City, but would consider someone who can help for even one day. The job is ideal for someone who is passionate about local food and healthy vegetables. In addition to your pay, you would get complete access to our fresh vegetables and melons!
