Deborah Bjes is the dedicated Risk Manager for the lawyers program at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Deborah is responsible for providing assistance to insureds by providing on-site CLE seminars, risk management programs, newsletters, and articles.
Deborah started her insurance career working in the claims department both as a handler of attorney, accountant and insurance agent claims, and then as a manager of a team of attorneys. She has also conducted numerous internal and external claim audits, including audits at various London brokerage houses. Deborah was also trained as a customer service specialist and has taught seminars to provide colleagues with the chance to sharpen their listening and communication skills.
Deborah is a licensed attorney who, prior to her insurance career, worked at a Chicago law firm where she handled a variety of cases. Deborah is a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law, where she received her J.D, cum Laude.

Elizabeth M. Midgley, Esq. is a partner at Anspach Meeks Ellenberger LLP. Ms. Midgley focuses her practice on litigation, including the defense of legal, medical, and dental malpractice, as well as professional responsibility and ethics. She has been successful in defending, obtaining voluntary discontinuances for, and resolving numerous claims for her clients, and has tried or assisted in nearly three dozen trials in a variety of fields. Ms. Midgley was elected Director of the Bar Association of Erie County in a contested election, and was also elected as President of the Western New York Defense Trial Lawyers Association. She has been appointed to a number of positions in local and state-wide bar associations, as well as having been appointed by the Appellate Division as a member of the Attorney Grievance Committee of the Eighth Judicial District. She has presented at various CLE and seminars covering topics such as electronic discovery, attorney ethics and professional responsibility, social media, the basics of civil trial, and jury selection and voir dire, and has authored several articles in local publications. Ms. Midgley also has been selected for the Super Lawyers Upstate New York Rising Stars list for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016. She is a 2003 graduate of the State University of New York College at Geneseo and a 2006 graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Law. She is admitted to practice in New York and in the U.S. District Court, Western District of New York.
