Laurie lives in Tacoma with her wife, Laura Wulf, and their son.

Statement: It has been an honor to serve you as State Representative. When first elected, I promised to bring people together to find solutions that make our community, and our families, stronger. Since then, I have helped Washington successfully implement health reform and helped push through the capital budget that built new schools and infrastructure, creating 20,000 jobs in Washington. With your support, I will continue to build ladders of opportunity for all, fully fund our schools, and close unfair tax loopholes. Rodger Deskins

Other Professional Experience: Navy Veteran, Automotive Parts Manager, Purchasing Manager in 3 States for Automotive Products, worked with engineering company, housung advocate and lease negotiator, Marketing Manager. Championed development committees, headed installation projects for relocation of expanding company, consultant of computer systems for employees and vendor reps, former member of Better Business Bureau and Washington Automotive Wholesellers Association.

Education: Tacoma Community College Associate Degree in Business, Olympic College Electronics Program,Knapp Business College, Graduate of Wilson High School

Community Service: Booster club charity work for Gymnastic Team and Ballet Company, supporter of Easter Seals and United Way, Support Boy and Sea Scouts.

Statement: My Goal is to have a balanced and equal Government to support the people. We do not have to grow the Government to effect this. We need to manage the Government as a Business. 80% of our top ten employers in Pierce County are Government jobs. We need to broaden our base for more private sector businesses to thrive and help expand our available jobs for our youth and veterans, our future depends on it. I will support tax relief for the private sector businesses. As business grows it generates more tax dollars, not tax increases.We can do it together.
