In our continuing effort to be more efficient and planet-friendly, A2LA is introducing a system to allow for the validation of the legitimacy of electronic documents received by organizations, assessors and other constituents of A2LA. Submitted information requiring signatures will not be “signed” in the physical sense of a traditional document. The appropriate person (e.g. the assessor, authorized or deputy authorized representative of the organization, or other) must enter a combination of six or more characters that have been specifically adopted to serve the function of the signature, preceded and followed by the forward slash (/) symbol. Acceptable “signatures” could include:
1. /john doe/
2. /12john doe23/
3. //john doe##//
4. /jd1234/
5. /GwT$r4/
6. /<any other combination of six or more characters, numbers, and or symbols>/.
This system of signature representations allows all of our constituents to submit “signed” documents without using scanners, digitally signed certificates, electronic signature pads, or other more complicated means. To begin using the signature representation on documents submitted to A2LA, please follow these steps.
1. Type the symbol/character string that you will use to represent your physical signature in the space provided below.
2. Type your full name into the space provided.
3. Type your company name and phone number in the spaces provided.
4. If you know your A2LA Master Code, please provide it in the space below. If you are unsure of your master code, please contact your Accreditation Officer or leave this space blank.
5. Print this page and sign in the signature space below. You may insert a scanned signature in lieu of printing the document.
6. Make a copy of the document for your records.
7. Email, fax, or mail a copy of the document to A2LA Headquarters at:
