VA TVHS Employees Donate $117,000 to Charities
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — January 10, 2013 —The employees of the VA Tennessee Valley Healthcare System (VA TVHS) showed their generosity again this year by contributing more than $117,000 to the 2012 Combined Federal Campaign (CFC).
The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.
CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with more than 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and internationally to help to raise millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
VA TVHS Director Juan A. Morales says the employees of VA TVHS continually show a humanitarian spirit during the CFC.
“It never ceases to amaze me the level of benevolence the employees display every year when they are given the opportunity to give through the CFC,” said Morales. “I think it’s indicative of the caring nature the employees of VA TVHSpossess. This is evident not only in their charitable acts during CFC, but each day as they care for Veterans,” he said.
The CFC begins in September of each year and last until late December. This year’s CFC was extended until December 31 to allow employees extra time to give.
VA TVHS is a tertiary integrated healthcare system comprised of two hospitals, the Alvin C. York Campus in Murfreesboro, Tenn., and the Nashville Campus in Nashville, Tenn. TVHS has community based outpatient clinics located in Tennessee and Southern Kentucky. For more information about VA TVHS, visit
